"What were you thinking?" Sky turned to see a red faced Tony Stark. She looked down at her feet which were hanging off her chair. "Can you look at me when I talk to you?"
"Can you not yell at me?" She snapped back. Sky hated yelling which was pretty understandable. She hated when her mother yelled and she didn't want her supposed father to do the same. Tony sighed and leaned against the door frame.
"You can't just run off and leave. The cities dangerous."
"I can handle myself."
"I'm sure you can, but I don't care. That was stupid and irresponsible and stupid and dangerous and stupid, oh and did I mention stupid?" Sky could here Tony's voice raising again and she decided to do anything to make it stop.
"You're right. I'm sorry. I was just upset and acted like a kid." She told him not believing a single word that came out of her mouth.
Sky really did love to lie. It just came out so easily. The room filled with silence as neither knew what to say. This was basically torture for Sky. Silence equals awkwardness and awkwardness equals awkward situations which equals torture. According to Sky's logic.
"Hey." Sky looked up at Tony with curious eyes, unsure of if he was going to punish her or hug her. She really hoped he wouldn't hug her. "You wanna come work in the lab with me?" That was unexpected.
"Uh...sure." She mumbled. She really wanted to, Sky just would have preferred to do it by herself. They walked down the hallways and Sky was surprised to see that she was already mapping everything out. Tony didn't even have to tell her which way to go, she already knew. "This is really cool." She mumbled quietly as she walked into the lab.
"Yup, my pride and joy." He joked. Sky did not laugh, mostly because she wasn't paying attention. She was studying everything that was scattered on the desks. "So...I've got a few things I'm working on, but we can do whatever you want or whatever."
"Oh well, I don't really know. I can just watch you work for a while." Tony nodded and pulled out a chair for Sky to sit in. They mostly sat in silence. Sky payed close attention to Tony's work. She was actually interested in all of it.
"Cool right?"
"Yeah." Sky said. She was now sitting right next to Tony seeming much more interested in the project than he was. "I've never seen anything like this. All this technology and stuff is just amazing." She told him.
"Oh that reminds me. We need to get you a phone and I was thinking a computer too, just for good measure." Sky smiled, not knowing what to do. She rarely got gifts, much less something like that.
"Really?" Tony nodded with a soft smirk on his face. He seemed pleased with himself. "Thank you Tony."
"It's no problem really...also I just really wanted to apologize about what I said."
"No, it's-it's fine really. I overreacted."
"Maybe, but I shouldn't have said it. I never really thought about having kids before and then a 16 year old just being thrown at me. It's all crazy and I'm not prepared, but I'm willing to try this out if you are. Deal." Tony held his hand out in front of Sky waiting for her to shake it. She but her lip and looked at his hand. Another thing Sky hated was commitment, because it's fake. Nothing really lasts forever, but then again...
"Deal." She said taking his hand and her face breaking out into a grin.
"We'll figure this out."
"Totally."

As Sky laid on her bed after spending hours with Tony she couldn't stop smiling. That, that was what she was waiting for. It's what she had been waiting for her whole life.
