okay im not sure i made this clear but bucky and steve were in a relationship in the forties and they knew y/n. She was their best friend they were all inseperable. And im trying a new method on posting these parts on this story so let me know if the sounds right.
*flashback*
August 15th 1941
"Steve don't ignore me you know you love me" Bucky said as Steve was walking away from him. "Buck I really don't want to talk right now y/n is the hospital our best friend is sick and she could die at any point." Steve worried about you.
"I know I know don't you think I know that Steve" Bucky raised his voice a little. "Don't you think I know that she is sick and she could die!" Bucky scolded. "I don't like focusing on that kind of stuff it hurts to much" Bucky said.
Steve looked at him with his glossy eyes tearing up from the fact that he loved you as a best friend and he loved Bucky as a lover. "Come on Stevie boy don't cry come on let's go see her she'll be okay." Bucky tried reassuring him and they went to the hospital you were at.
They came to see you in the hospital and you lying in a hospital in a coma you've only been in for a few days now.
"See babe she's fine and there is no need to worry because y/n will get through this she always does" Bucky reassures and kisses Steve while they are watching you sleep in the hospital bed.
Later the two men get home to their flat apartment that they share with you. So your always sometimes hearing them hooking up. And you've always had these weird type of feelings for these two but you told yourself that you would never tell them because they were happy. And you put their happiness before your own which was very sweet and considerate of you.
"I don't know if I can do this" steve told bucky. "do what babe?' bucky questioned. " Stop okay just stop I don't understand how you could not be stressed about her right now" steve stressed. "what are you talking about Steve? Are you okay?" Bucky questioned.
"I think we should take a break for this from this relationship because I want to don't wanna lose you. What if I...... We lost her. I wouldn't be able to take it I'm sure I would some how ruin this. What we have.'' Steve said. "So what you want to take a break from this relationship because you think that if you lose y/n you'll lose me?'' Bucky asked. "Yes and I don't wanna take any chances and you know as soon as she's better we can be together you know." Steve said.
"I understand this Steve and your sure about this. This is what you want because if you want this then don't expect me to be waiting around for you. If you choose her over me we are done." Bucky said. "So your making me choose between you two?" Steve asked. "No I'm not making you do anything its you that brought this upon yourself." Bucky said. "Then I'm sorry buck I will always love you no matter what and I hope you feel the same but I choose her, I choose her." Steve said making his decision. After him saying that Bucky stormed to his room in the flat and started packing his things then he left without even saying anything to Steve.
Okay this is the part in the story where Bucky gets drafted and Steve gets the serum. And they see each other again on a assignment in the army. When Bucky falls off the train and they each never see each other again. Until modern day time. When Steve and Bucky were in the ice the doctors that were taking care of y/n decided that they didn't have the equipment to treat you so they froze you in ice until modern day.
