He Needs Her

"She ran away..." He kept looking at the message he had sent her, the message in which he promised to support her, the message in which asked her for a valid reason.

"She didn't come because she doesn't have anything to say....." He didn't knew why he was crying, this was meant to happen.

"I was foolish,  I trusted her!"

"Bhai! Bhai! Apko pata hai Ishqi kaha hai?" Kartik came running. Just half an hour ago, he saw Ishqi checking her phone and running away saying that she has something important to do. That very moment he knew it was related to his Bhai.

"Mujhe kyu pata hoga? Bhag gyi vo!" He couldn't look into Kartik's eye, he knew he would breakdown if did so.

"Nhi pata mtlb? Apne hi uski bail karayi thi na? Aur usko koi message aya tha jisko dekh ke vo bhagne lagi, vo apka hi message tha na?"
Kartik knew Ishqi wanted to talk to him and he knew that Ahaan wants that too.

"Bhagne lagi? Message dekh ke? Toh ab tak yaha ayi kyu nhi?" Ahaan didn't knew what this feeling is, happiness, shock, surprise or something else?

If she really had something to say, if she really wanted to talk to me then why is she not here yet?

"Bhai mujhe lag rha hai kuch gadbad hai! Ishqi ki Maasi to mere sath hi thi, vo unhe chhod k kahi thode na jayegi!"

Kartik is right! Ishqi apni Maasi ko chhod ke kahi nhi jayegi! Par aisi baat hai to vo kaha hai? Aayi kyu nhi mere paas? Vo...usse kuch hua to nhi hoga na..? Nhi! Usse kya hoga! Vo to khud ek hadsa hai! Usse kya ho skta hai bhala!

Fear overwhelmed him, the same fear he felt everytime she was in danger, the fear of losing HER!

Kartik's phone rang but he was in no mood of picking it, not when his Bhai needed him the most.
It rang again, irritated, he took it out of his pocket and checked the caller ID.

"It's Ishqi!!" He almost screamed.

Ishqi.....she is calling Karthik! That means she is alright! Thank God!

A smile curled on his lips as hope embraced him, his Ishqi was safe.

"Hello! Kaha ho tum Ishqi!? Ahaan Bhai tumhara-"
He stopped midway, as the voice answering his questions was foreign to his ears, it wasn't Ishqi.

"Sir! This phone's owner met an accident, she is in ICU, XXX hospital"

"Wh-what! I-I am coming!" He disconnected the call and looked at his brother who was smiling, with hope in his eyes.

"Kaha hai Ishqi?" He couldn't resist himself, he wanted to see her as soon as possible, he wanted to hear her say that she did all this for a reason.

"V..vo bhai actually.....Ishqi ka accident ho gya hai aur vo ICU me hai"

"Ac-accident?" It took Ahaan almost 1 minute to process the information.

Ishqi is in ICU?  He didn't knew what to do, how to react.
Ahaan had this habit of taking a lot of time to process a single thing related to emotions. He can do anything, maths, buisness and literally anything but emotions....

Kartik tried to study his face but he couldn't, his face didn't held any emotion for a moment.

All of a sudden, Kartik saw his eyes getting moist.
Bhai, he thought, you are too slow.

"Take me to her Kartik!" His voice broke as he tried to prepare himself.

"Who are you guys?" The doctor asked as he saw them rushing to him.

"Ishqi kaisi hai?" Ahaan was too disturbed to answer any questions, he just wanted to see her, to be with her.

"Oh that emergency patient! So you guys are her?"
"Relatives!" Kartik answered for Ahaan, he knew one more question and Ahaan would punch this doctor.

"I see....she is fine, well not fine but out of danger atleast!"

He was crying for her! 

What is this Ishqi? Why do you always do this with me? Why is it that always you get hurt but I feel the pain? What is my fault!?

"What was her fault Bhai?" Kartik asked, as if he had read Ahaan's mind.

He looked at his elder brother with pitty.
He is indeed in pain.

"She did nothing, she doesn't deserve all this pain Bhai, she..." He didn't continue his sentence as his brother was already crying.
Kartik hugged Ahaan, he knew that nothing can pacify him except......

Bhai needs you Ishqi.....
