MICHAEL'S POV
It was quarter until 10, I had overslept. I already had so much to do, and Father would not be happy to see me lazy at such a time.
"Lord, your father is requesting for you" says one of the maids
Well my story is quite simple. I'm the son of an important man in the country. Some would say I'm an over-achiever, I'm not a fan of interacting with the human race, and I LOVE my space. I have a bit of complicated relationship with my mother, seeing as I caught her in an affair with some snobbish rich lad from Birbury. Pshh...how trashy!
I learned from my mother's disappointing choices, that you simply cannot let yourself care for other people. Nobody, and I mean nobody, is capable of being selfless.
I dressed up, and went to my father's study.
" Why do you always oversleep, Michael?"
( This is the first I had overslept in almost 3 years, but whatever)
" No worries, a good friend of mine is leaving his castle, and I want to send you off for the summer"
" But father..."
"You are not to object, Michael, I owe Lord Water-more a favor."
"What does that have to do with me?"
"Come on, Michael, it'll be a change of scenery. You haven't left the castle in over a 2 weeks"
"Because there was no urgent matter outside of these walls"
"Lord Water-more is a great friend to the family, he even visited 5 years ago. Do you recall?
Oh. THAT Lord Water-more. Mom's dirty little secret was a good friend to the family? Interesting...
"I agree with your father, Michael. You should really consider going"
Mom had walked into the study.
"Oh isn't this amusing..." I replied
"Michael,please"
"Wouldn't you rather go than I?"
Father gave me a very dangerous look, so I backed off.
" When do I leave?"
Father smiles, "Monday morning, we shall prepare you a carriage"
"Very well,then"
Honestly speaking, I didn't want to be around the dearest mother of all. And yes, I'm being sarcastic. I guess being away for three months hasn't ever hurt anyone so I guess I'll make my peace with it.
