I was sitting in the living room waiting as the clocked hands ticked by. I could hear all the sounds in the house.
Mary is running up and down the stairs. Beckett is pouring water in the kitchen. Parker outside working with the car.
I feel so bad, Beckett should go back to exams and not wait here for his lame girlfriend to feel better.
"Beckett you should go back to school," I said not wanting me to be the reason he was staying home.
"Really," He said, surprised.
I put on a fake smile and started laughing hysterically. "Ya just go to school," I started laughing so hard that I started crying. I started sobbing. This was not going to end well.
Beckett was running over to me now. He sat next to me and patted my back
"Why did they have to leave me," I said, and right as I said that the front door to the house swung open.
I watched as my aunt, uncle, and three cousins. I stood up and walked out the door.
The whole reason my parents were not here was because of them. I did not want to be in the same room as them. I did not want to look at them. Hear them or touch them. I wanted them out of my life completely.
I heard the door open behind me. I was on the patio and I turned around. Of course my goody-two-shoes aunt, Janet. She had short blonde hair and a green top and black pants. I turned to face her and I started crying again. She walked towards me and I took a step backward.
"Ellie," she said.
I looked at her in disgust. I stepped down the back stairs and off the porch. I had no idea where I was going, but anywhere except here was good.
I crossed my arms and walked across the street. I heard voices yelling my name on the other side of the street.
I started running, running was not a problem because I was on track. I ran down the street and did not stop until I reached the park. I stepped on the wood chips and took three steps forward. It was like 4:00 p.m., but it felt like 10:00. It had been the longest day ever. I walked over to the swing and sat down. I pulled out my phone and checked my texts. I had about three hundred messages from Clarie, Beckett, and my cousins Chole, Amber, and Jack.
I looked through the texts Clarie sent me. She texted me about thirty messages.
She said:
Hello Ellie????
I heard that you and Beckett left exams early, is that true????
Hello, are you there???
????
.......
Please answer me!
Did something bad happen to you??
Please respond to me!
I need to know if you are okay!!
Is Beckett okay??
Are you okay??
Is there anything wrong with you??
Do you need me to come to your house???
Please, I need to know if you are okay!!!
Did you die?!?!?
Are you okay????
I know you are not going to answer.
I know you are clearly busy.
I will not waste any more of your time, but please call me when you get these.
I pressed the tabs on Claire's contact and face timed her.
I heard the ringing noise and then looked back at my phone to see that it was connecting.
Clarie had a panicked look on her face when she answered.
"Are you okay Ellie," She said very nervously.
My throat was very dry so when I answered my voice was scratchy. "Um ya I am fine," I said, acting normal and very dry.
I did not want her to ask me any more questions so I hung up right then and there.
I decided to check my texts from Beckett now. I was only a mile away from Beckett's house so when I checked they were all from five minutes ago. I had like a hundred texts from Beckett so I just checked the top ten.
This is what she said:
Where did you go?
Are you okay?
Come back.
What did Janet say
Are you hurt
I can give you a hug
I need you to be okay!
Please come back to me?
When you smile it makes me feel good inside.
Please come back to me
I exited out of that chat. I did not want to respond to anything that he said. I indeed love him but sometimes I need to be alone. Okay more like I need my parents.
I was not going to check my texts from Amber Chole and Jack. I turned off my phone and just sat there thinking and revising the day.
Today was probably the worst day in my entire life. First off, I had my finals for my Senior year of High School. Then I got pulled out of class to be told that my parents got in a car crash. After that, I get a phone call on the car ride to the hospital, saying my parents are dead. Lastly, the people that caused the death of my parents show up at my boyfriend's house. Could this day get any worse?
Then out of nowhere the sky turns grey. I look up and little drops of water are coming down on me. I turned on my phone again which was probably not a smart idea and checked the weather app. It said that there was a 100% chance of downpours at 4:00. Great, just my luck.
I sat on the swing drenched for 30 minutes. Sat there doing nothing at all.
I watched as a stray dog wandered across the road into the park. This dog was the biggest dog I have ever seen in my life. It was a Great Dain. The dog picked its head up and looked straight at me. He started to walk towards me too. The dog kept walking until he was a couple of feet away from me.
"Umm, dog you can go now," I yelled at him. If you were watching this you probably would start laughing. I was soaking wet and yelling in the rain. The dog ran off. I then decided to walk to my house, and see my own puppy, Thomas.
I still had my arms crossed while I walked. I walked to the end of the road. I saw this car with a young child and his parents riding along in it. This made me miss my parents even more.
I tried to ignore the looks that I was getting from people, but it was hard. I started to get cold and tried. I had been walking for half an hour.
I finally got onto my street, and I was coughing and freezing. This was one of the most unpleasant things I have experienced. I got to my door and pushed down in the knob. It was surprisingly open. I walked in and grabbed the dog towel and from the hanger. I wiped my whole body off and then walked into the kitchen. Of course, I could not be alone in this house, so when I walked into the kitchen Janet, Amber Chole, and Jack were in there sitting at the kitchen counter.
