Chapter 8

"Man, I'm so glad I left..." Brandy groaned while patting his ears. "Mom's probably going to kill me though." He glanced down at a watch he just recently bought. "Loli said she was going to be here around... Now."

"Hello." A familiar Lopunny waved.

"Dah!" The Lucario jumped in the air before groaning. "Did you have to come from behind, Loli?"

"Oh, sorry." She apologized flatly, looking around the area.

He waved it off before sighing. "It's okay... What are we doing here anyway?" Brandy glanced around to see trees, the Prime Path, and even more trees.

"We were assigned to investigate this area, the area where Andrew and Luke showed up." Loli answered, "What else would we be here for?"

"Wait, this is the place?" He said confusingly. "I know that they are humans, but I originally thought they were walking from Decargo to here."

"Nope, they originally showed up around this area." The Lopunny spoke, "Let's get looking." The two agreed, entering the forest without hesitation. The place seemed relatively empty, with only a few wild Pokémon hiding from plain sight, scared of the two fully evolved Pokémon.

"So...," Brandy tried to break the ice. "Did you get a call from someone earlier?" A cold sweat ran behind his back.

"From Rai, yes." She nodded, "It was a bit strange, to be honest."

The Lucario sighed. "It got immediately hung up, didn't it?"

"It might have." Loli replied, still looking forward.

"Yeah... That was me," he admitted with a paw on his neck. "Rai was going to say I had a crush on you. So I hung up before she had the chance."

"Hm..." The Lopunny continued to look forward. "So you decided to do it yourself instead before she could?"

He nodded before sighing. "Loli, I know that you're... Admittedly crazy to the outside world, but I know who you really are." Brandy tried to reach for Loli's paw. "So, do you mind if I take you out sooner or later?"

"Sure, why not." She lightly squeezed his paw, still looking forward. "I guess you could say that I like you, too." She gave him a soft smile, finally turning her head to the Lucario.

A red tint came towards him as he softly smiled back. "O-Okay... It's a date. Unless you don't want it to be!" He yelled, a flustered expression coming out. "It doesn't matter..."

"It's a date." She stifled a chuckle.

The Lucario tightened his grip as he smiled while looking ahead. "Alright, let's..." he paused to notice a white object and wooden object ahead.

"Hm? Let's what?"

"I think we found something..." Brandy slid over towards them before kneeling towards it. "What the heck is this?" He said picking them up.

"Human items, apparently..."

"Yeah no kidding... Catch." He threw the spherical white object towards Loli underhanded.

"Okay." She caught the object.

"...We should take this back, right?"

"Yeah, this is enough to complete our job." Loli told him. "Ready to go?"

Brandy nodded before walking along. "Now about that date..."

"Luke?" A Zorua approached the Eevee. "I just wanna mention that I want to take you somewhere tonight. Just for the two of us."

"Hm?" The Eevee's ears perked before he instantly began to blush. "Wait... What? A-A date? Since when was she so willing?"
