Monica POV
Chris told me everything about what happened with Shawn and the fight that they had at his house, and it's just annoying because he doesn't need that type of drama in his life, but of course, it was gonna be Shawn to do it. I don't know Shawn very well, but he needs to tread lightly with people that have already been here, he doesn't know who is willing to throw it all away just to get him back.
I told him how the signing went even though I wasn't there myself, I knew he signed because he was loud as ever the next day that I saw him about the meeting.
I was just on my computer shaking my head, another lost soul, he is a little charmer though and he kind of reminds me of Chris when he was sixteen, but just a little more feisty and determined to become someone, and also the little asshole is nineteen, he is Chris age, acting a fool.
I mean, of course, Chris should've been responsible at the age of sixteen, driving, and doing all kinds of grown-up teenage things by his self and he fell short, but to chase a dream like this after being told the outcome is ridiculous.
Chris wasn't looking for any part, he was destructive for a living. I tried to talk to him on numerous occasions on why he did it, but he gave different answers saying that he just liked it or he doesn't know for sure, but one thing for sure, he didn't commit crimes to be someone or be owned by someone, It was like his eyes finally opened for the first time to see that the world can be cruel in more than one way then he knew.
Flashback
"Why do you do the things you do?" I asked as Chris came in and sat in my office like he always does, he became so attached to me when we all started working together and over time became friendly to everyone.
"I don't know, I just like it, I guess not for this to happen though I get paid to do what I do on a regular, this shit crazy, but y'all wrong as hell for this, y'all police officers, y'all are supposed to protect and serve." He said as he looked around in excitement, he thought this world was a dream come true, but he was so wrong.
"I know, but it's so much about this place you don't know," I said as he looked at me in confusion, and it was so much about this place I didn't know either because once they gave us those contracts I thought it was a joke, that they were lying, that it was no way possible for them to do this to us, but over time it was no way out for anyone and I couldn't really protect Chris like I wanted to.
"Like what? I already know y'all pulling undercover money schemes, the only thing I want to know is why we didn't get caught yet? this shit too public, these people out here dumb or something?" He asked as he looked at me if only he knew, I remembered when he used to wear black all the time in different ways and he still does, but how he acted didn't match it, he was really stylish though, he kept me company here and took my mind off of working with such wretched people, but over time he changed, and he changed right in front of my face and I couldn't handle it because I knew one day it was going to happen, how he talked, how he walked and eventually things we're gonna go down. I don't know half the things he has gone through, I just know it didn't need to happen at all.
