Rose walked back into the Common Room looking satisfied, but dangerous. Sirius was the first to notice.
"Rosie, where'd you go love?" She smiled a cold smile and kissed Sirius on the cheek. "Just to the bathroom love. Ran into your cousin Bellatrix in there, she sends her absolute warmest regards." The tone and underlying message of Rose's words made Sirius widen his eyes, but then he smiled in spite of himself. Lily looked at Rose with a fretful look, and Rose replied with a smirk and a cock of her eyebrow. "Rose," Lily began apprehensively. "Yes Lily?" Rose interrupted with a phony smile and a look that told Lily not to ask questions. Lily put her head down and bit her lip anxiously, but didn't ask not one more question for the rest of the night. Rose turned to Sirius with an innocent smile. He kissed her for a moment, pulled her close and whispered, "I don't even want to know, Ferbreezeo." "Then you won't know darling," she purred back with a kiss on Sirius's cheek. They understood the matter was handled, and it was not to be questioned how. The couple then sat down in front of the fire, acting as though it were any other night.

Bellatrix was found unconscious the next day by a terrified second year, and she remained in the Hospital Wing for two days with broken ribs, a concussion, and bodily trauma/shock. The day after the incident, Peter noted Bellatrix's absence at the Slytherin table for breakfast, to which Rose only replied with a satisfied smile and humming slightly as she read the paper. Sirius noticed and gently squeezed her knee. She looked up at him with a confused look of false innocence, and then turned back to her paper with a content look. Lily, who was watching the exchange, grew quite troubled. Rose gave her a reassuring smile. Lily knew Rose could handle her business, but she also knew Bellatrix was crazy, and she worried for her friend.
It became quickly apparent that Lily had nothing to fear. She did not know what transpired between Rose and Bellatrix, but whatever it was had scared Bellatrix straight. She wouldn't even so much as look at Rose or Sirius, and her typical cackling could be silenced with a single glance from either. It truly gave Rose a lot of merriment in watching that disdainful little pet of Voldemort's be silenced. Sirius was just as pleased by it as well, but for different reasons. Though he'd never confess it, hearing about the damage Rose inflicted upon Bellatrix and watching her control her with a glance made Sirius fall in love with her that much more. His Rose, so put together and cleaned up, was dangerous and had a wicked streak. Her eyes seemed darker, her voice had more bite, and Sirius was here for every bit of it.
