It took years of distancing myself from my family, countless drunken nights, and not getting close to anyone around me because the fear of being hurt again fills every part of me.
So when my sister begs for me to come down to our beach house for the summer, I'm hesitant but I agree. It's been four years, what could go wrong?
Apparently everything. I didn't know that my sister would be engaged to him. The one man who broke me into tiny little pieces, some of which I could never get back. I thought I was all put together, but the longer I'm around him the more I realize how many parts of me he still owns.
But I can't let him own me anymore. I want to be whole again, and I want to be happy one day. I can't let myself become lost in love again. I can't ever lose myself like I did that one summer.
So I'm finding myself, again. But sometimes when you find yourself, it leads you back to where you least expect it.

Such a good book! I binge read this book in one night. It is part of a series that contains stories of Grayson's (the main character) friends, Maxine and Hayley, and Cale's (the main man) brothers, Clayton and Colt. You can read each of these books as a stand alone, but you might be confused. Personally, I read Hayley and Clayton's story, which is book two first, and then I read Grayson and Cale's. The reason this book is rated a 9/10 is because I enjoyed Hayley and Clayton's story more, and I am REALLY enjoying Maxine and Colt's story, so it isn't my favourite in the series, but still a really good book.
I really liked reading about Grayson and Cale's relationship years prior to the timing of the book. I think their relationship was super cute, but it obviously didn't end well, and it ended for different reasons than you think. As Cale is engaged to Grayson's sister, it is definitely an awkward situation for everyone, but people don't know they dated for a while into the book as they had a secret summer fling years ago.
It was a super interesting read and I have definitely read it more than once. The author is literally a genius and her books are so amazing. There will definitely be more of her books on this list in the future.
