It just went from a peaceful day to surviving the darkness. Angelina and Dawn follow after Syness and Chikki, told by their mother to stay by their side. It is eerily quiet, causing the girls to feel unsafe and unsure. After the eclipse started, everything went wrong. "Dawn!" Angelina screams, reaching out for her sister. Syness pushes the girls out the window, letting them fall onto the harpy's back. Syness stays back, letting her friends get away as she will try to stop the creatures in front of her.

"I will protect you, Princesses!" she hisses, preparing to fight the creatures of darkness. Their skin is slightly deformed and seems to be a cloudy black. They are ShadowLandians and due to them being dormant and quiet for so long, they weren't seen as a threat. They weren't watched and looked upon. Angelina could only watch as Syness is constricted by the shadowy figures. A fire starts up inside the castle, the girls watching as their home seems to be ripped away from their grasps.

"Dawn? What— what's happening?" Angelina speaks softly, tears flowing from her eyes. She isn't ready to see what is happening, she's young. At only two years old, she leaves behind a dear friend to the darkness. Angelina knows of the ShadowLandians, learning about them from her elven studies. They are people-shaped creatures created from the darkness, from evil. People who are forced to become corrupted and they were sworn enemies of angels. Angels are pure and full of light, while shadows are corrupt and full of darkness. They have no souls and even if they did, how could they do what they have done?

Dawn couldn't face her sister, trying to hide her own tears. She has to be strong, as the eldest sister. "It'll be okay, Angelina. We're gonna be okay. We just have to hide from the monsters, okay? Just like the games!" she explains, hoping it would help hide the girl from the truth. Angelina hides her face against Dawn's shoulder, trying to avoid the sights. The land seems to burn and the roar of dragons shakes the air. Chikki is flying over the area where all the spiritians lived, seeing as they panicked, screaming and running around.

Suddenly, Chikki feels a sharp pain shoot through her abdomen, her arm moving to cradle her stomach out of instinct. With that movement, her flight is no more and they fall to the ground, Dawn using her pale white angel wings to fly and catch Angelina. She can't catch Chikki— she is too heavy for the young girl. The harpy's body hits the ground with a loud crack. Angelina sees her friend's body on the ground, a small puddle of blood staining the ground. A roar steals their attention and they look at the source. Then, they could see it.

Two giant dragons, one with violet scales littered with golden flecks and the other with golden scales flecked with violet. Their eyes are full of murder and Dawn can feel nothing but fear. She is so scared that her wings just stop working and they start to fall from the sky. They scream, not knowing what to do and about to meet their end. But then, a figure zooms after them, but only grabs Angelina as they fly away.

"Dawn!" Angelina cries out, watching as her sister was still falling, her eyes being ripped away as she was set on the ground. The figure reveals to be her mother, staring down at her. "Mommy?"

The queen says nothing as she pulls out a violet-colored amulet. She takes out two tubes filled with glittering, thick liquid and pours both of them upon the amulet. It glows and her mother then thrusts the amulet towards her child's chest, transparent chains wrapping around her wrists and a thin collar wrapping around her neck. Angelina cries out in pain as the amulet is placed in the middle of her chest, right in the crest of the collarbone. It's as if claws shoot out of the amulet and have dug into her chest, the poor girl screaming for her mother to stop whatever she is doing. Two roars can be heard, Angelina glancing up to see the two dragons she had seen earlier. They also have chains and collars, attached to hers.

Her mother smiles, but it isn't a kind smile. Her smile was wrong and Angelina doesn't understand. She is her mother, isn't she? She looks like her, smells like her, and yet, she does not seem like herself. "Don't worry, my child. This will make you so much stronger."
