Chapter 4

You weren't gonna quit now. You weren't planning on running away again. There's hope. Kai will help you with that. That's what he said.

It's half-past eight and your mom is yelling for you to get ready for school. You were staring at the mirror, giving yourself the motivation and assurance you needed to get through the day. Even the mere thought of your best friend and your hardcore crush being together was giving you a dizzy feeling in the stomach so you did what you always did.

Threw those thoughts into that door you never intended to open. Not anytime soon at least.

You're way late for school today and quite obviously considering your luck you got caught sneaking in late to the class. You walked lazily to the principal's room for your share of earful and suddenly locked eyes with the guy leaning at the corner of the room.

Perfect. It had to be you. Taehyung.

You both locked gazes at each other when he lifted his head. And of course, your heart couldn't handle it. It started pounding in your throat at the unexpected meet of your eyes with him.

'Do you intend to keep this up Taehyung?  You flinched and diverted your gaze to the source while Taehyung slowly took his eyes off you and stared elsewhere.

'I'm asking you. I know that it's been hard on you since you aren't from this place, but it's high time you adapted to your surroundings. And I don't see you slacking in having your confessions in the hallway or whatsoever'

Feeling cringed, you dug your nails into your hands at what the principal said. The guy can't even spell the word privacy. That you were sure of.

Taehyung doesn't seem to look disturbed at anything he heard as if he expected all of that.

And on top of that, you really didn't want to be there. Not when things were this awkward.

'Morning sir. Can I borrow y/n for a second?' Kai had already entered the room as if he owned the place. It sure makes sense considering the pet he is of the teachers for his popularity and good grades.

That's when even the principal noticed your existence, fun fact, you weren't even surprised now.

He didn't even bother making you stay since he had got the prey he had been hunting for a long while now right in his den.

You could feel someone's gaze on you while kai held your hand making you shoot a frown and puzzled look at him.

You yanked off his hands once you were out of the room.
'What the hell do you think you're doing wrist grabbing me' you looked at him in your annoyed expression.

'Oh, so it's cool when the kdrama Oppas does it. Not me? huh' Kai smirked at you.

'You're lame like usual. Now tell me why should I waste one more second of mine with you?'you rolled your eyes at him.

'In case you have forgotten,uhm.. I said I could help you? How are you doing btw' he asked with concern filled in his eyes which you absolutely hated.

You tried to gulp the lump that formed in your throat at the mention of someone asking about your well being. How pathetic could one be?

'I'm fine. And yeah.. I may have second thoughts about whatever I said to you if you're gonna act like this' you narrowed your eyes at him. No. Not in a playful way.

'Yes mam. Just talk to me when you're ready or okay or whenever okay? I'll be here.' He smiled at you.

You seriously didn't know why the bully was acting so cute and nice to you. Maybe he likes you as in all those bully guys with a soft spot for the main lead kind of stories you read.

You knew better.
So you threw that to your denial door as well.

Thoughts like why Taehyung was being held in the principal's office, why he had made the face which you remembered from the past, all came flushing to your mind. And that's when Tessa jumped on you.

'Where have you been. Why don't you reply? I'm seriously so pissed at you for ditching me you know that?' She pouted.

Ikr. im such a bitchy friend.
You felt bad for her. You have been awful. You knew that. But not anymore!

'So how is it going for my hot but dumb bestie? Tell me everything' you bit your lips raising your eyebrows(No. Not the sexy face) showing curiosity which was the last thing you felt at that point.

'He didn't text much yesterday. Idk why. All thanks to you babe. If it wasn't for all those letters and texts you had helped me write I wouldn't have made it to this cheesy idiot cute yummy baby I have' she hugged you tight giving you the right chance to hide the tears urging for its freedom.

Yes. You had put all of those things you had kept in your heart for six damn years into texts and letters. Never for you though.

At least you confessed. Even though you had to hide behind the wall you had helped to build.

Through your teary eyes, you saw someone walking to you. You could see his gritted teeth and those hands grabbing the hands that had been wrapped around you.

'Do you take me for some dumb stupid toy? my feelings something to play with?'
Taehyung started yelling while his eyes gave you a glance which made sure it showed all the hate and disgust and disappointment in the whole world.

No. This wasn't happening. This isn't going down like this.
You could feel your breath stiffen and your legs getting weak. You hated how he looked at you. You, even more, hated the fact that his eyes teared up.

Even more the fact that Tessa made fun of him saying 'Stop being a baby. How else do you think people start dating?'

Before stomping out of the class you saw Taehyung glance at you once more. Maybe the very last time he would acknowledge you. Even if, all his teary eyes revealed was the disbelief in your betrayal. But mostly, you saw HATE.
