Chapter 1

Pain shot through the Gold-brown tom's body. It felt like his body was on fire, not able to be snuffed out. Images flash through his head. Blood everywhere, corpses everywhere the tom looked. Cats fighting to the death. There he stood blood dripping from his body seeming never to dry. He was facing off against a bigger cat more than twice his size. The cat was covered in scars around his body but had fur that grew around the scars leaving a black pelt complementing the scars showing how many there were. The cat had a scratch over on his left eye keeping it shut but you are still able to see the eye from the opening of the scratch it was just a ghostly white color. It had its other eye open that had a color of crimson red that shot fear in a cat like seeing they are staring at a raveging dog. The cat slowly walks towards him. The ground seems to crack with every step he took. The tom slowly backs up only for his back paw to slip the edge of something. He looked behind himself only to see a little drop behind me. He didn't know what the drop led to at that moment but he had a feeling of hope.

The tom quickly turns his head to see the cat in front of me leaping towards him. Its legs stretched out with claws unsheathed. He quickly jumped out of the way but not before the cat was able to pierce his right side with its claws. He could feel its claws rip his skin like it was fresh prey. He stumbles to the ground. The side that the cat sliced his pelt slammed to the ground, making him scream in pain. He slowly get up off the ground feeling pain stabbing him. Blood drips from his side. The tom flinches from the pain everytime he moves something on his right side. He looked in front of me to see the cat in front of him not even a rabbit tail away.

His eyes shot open with him swiping his claw in the air, quickly rolling in his side and shooting up to his feet. His body then quickly reminds him how tired and injured he was with a shock wave of pain that makes him fall to the ground. He braced himself to hit the hard ground but instead his head hit a very soft object that felt like a pile of feathers.

"Woah there Jumpy?" Meowed a calming voice. The tom slowly turns his body,  pain ached every moment he moves an inch of his body. He slowly took his time to move to his stomach . The tom looks over to where he thought he heard the source of the voice and what he see is a somewhat young she-cat with a fur coat of brown and grey with blue eyes that give her somewhat a powerful presence in the place but also a caring stare that seemed to give a sign that was, hey I'm helpful. He looked around the place. He in a den of some sort and what he layed on was a soft pile of moss.

He slowly turned his head to look at his wounds and to his surprise they were covered by a different kind of moss that he has seen before, excellently covered but someone with this talent wasn't unheard of to the tom. The young tom tilted his head slowly in the she-cat direction. "Did you do this?" He meowed. The she-cat with a playful mur and starts to walk over to him. "Yes I did but you did not make it easy Jumpy."

The tom tilts his head in confusion. "Jumpy!?" He softly growled. The she-cat lightly laughs at his aggression. Licking her side "What surprised, that I'm calling you Jumpy, Jumpy." She sits down next to the tom like she was in no danger at all. That's when he realizes that she also has moss on her. She seemed to have noticed him looking at the wounds. "You packed a punch Jumpy." His aggression drifts away only leaving a face of guilt. "Did I do that to you?"

The she-cat nods her head. "Yep but you didn't mean it you were still kinda out, it was most likely your fighting instincts kicking." Meowed the she-cat. He looked back to the moss covered injuries. "Why did you-?" "Do it, because it's my job as a medicine cat?" The tom didn't say anything but he took a look at his surroundings again. "How did I get here?" He groaned lightly

"That's who I will be getting now." Meowed the she-cat. When she made it to the entrance of the den. She stops in place, turning her head over her shoulder. " I'm Softpad by the way." Before the tom could make a comment the she-cat leaves the den only leaving me to wonder where he was.
