I was in the office with Asher and Lucas as well as five other guys I've never seen before. The way they are seated I could say that three of them are not from here and the other two hold an important title here, but who are they?

I couldn't focus because the three guys kept staring at me, making me nervous. I was thinking that I should have been anywhere else but here. They were intimidating and I didn't like it one bit.

"Ok everyone thank you for visiting on such short time, I hope you enjoy your stay here." Asher said and the three men nodded their heads. I breathed a sigh of relief when they took their focus off me.

"Before we go any further, you already know why we are here right?" One of the men asked and Asher nodded his head.

"Yes Mr. Edmond, my father already briefed me on that subject." They started talking and I really wanted to ask Asher to let me leave, but I didn't want to seem disrespectful.

For at least five minutes I saw that they all had a blank expression on their faces, and wondered what it was about. It's something that I've seen Asher doing and I meant to ask him about it before but it slipped my mind.

"Ok let's continue since you're all agreeing with me." Asher said.

"You've only been in your.... let's say father's business for a couple months now, how is it so far?" The one called Mr. Edmond asked Asher.

"It's going great so far. I have zero complaints from my p-workers. They are all wonderful and I'm glad to be given this opportunity." Mr. Edmond pointed at the other man next to him, gesturing for him to talk.

"My name is Michael Lawson and I want to thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to talk to us. We have done this exact procedure with other 'businesses' as well so please don't feel too pressured when we ask you a couple questions. As you can see we haven't really seen your type of relationship before, and it's new to us. so how do you deal with something like this in front of others on a daily basis?" He asked curiously and I was confused for a second before I figured out what he meant.

"Well like I said and the end of the day it's not really us who chose who we want to be with. Love as a funny way of chosing the person for us to spend the rest of our lives with. I'm glad that I met Kayden here and I also did promise him that I would never hurt him or leave him, because at the end of the day he is mine as much as I am his." I smiled and blushed when all eyes started focusing on me. Can this just be over and done with right now?

(Meanwhile Lucas POV)

I was feeling a bit agitated, since I had to be here and not with my mate.

I told Isaiah to stay away from the office, because he didn't want them to say anything bad about him. I was starting to love Isaiah a lot, and by the way these alphas were acting, I could tell that they were going to be trouble.

At the start of our conversation, we mind link each other and before you say anything else, they got accepted to this pack for just the weekend, so they could monitor us and see how our pack members behave towards us.

During our little silent conversation, Edmond told Asher though mind link that he was a faggot and should rot in hell, but when Asher told him about Selene and that he had no say over who he should have for his mate, Edmond seems to understand and let it slide.

Those were the things I didn't want Isaiah to witness, so I left him in our room and now I was here wishing that I was next to him instead.

These men were homophobic and I can't stand them being here as much as Asher, because I could tell he was trying to control his temper each time these alphas looked at Kayden.

If they want to remain here for the rest of the weekend unharmed, I suggest they back off a little and stop looking at Asher and I, as if we were the most disgusting people on earth.

"My name is Geraldo Simmons and I wanted to ask Lucas why his significant other is not here as well, since yours is present Asher." I groaned and glared at him, wishing I could murder him.

"He's not feeling well so I asked him to rest up, I'm sure you'll get to meet him eventually." Asher shot me a look as if telling me that I should behave, but how can I when I'm not around my mate right now thanks to these fucking idiots?

'You should have told Kayden about us, save us all the trouble. Now we have to say boyfriend instead of mate, business instead of pack. That's just stupid.' Geraldo said and Asher rolled his eyes and sighed.

'I'll talk to him as soon as we leave from here, I want to get it over and done with. I know I'm scared of being rejected, but it feels like torture watching him with that confused expression on his face. I have to man up and get this over and done with so I can move on with or without him.' I was shocked when he said that and even though I'm glad he'll finally tell Kayden, I'm also nervous about the outcome. Hopefully Kayden doesn't reject him because I don't want to see my best friend hurt.

(Meanwhile Kayden's POV)

At long last the meeting is over and I can safely say I'm glad I got the opportunity to leave this suffocating office. Don't get me wrong, this office belongs to Asher and I loved being here before, but now with these men in here makes it a bit cramped.

They have been silent for a couple minutes with that same blank expression on their faces. I was so confused that I wanted to cry.

Asher stood and bid them farewell as they all walked out with me following him. He took my hand and led me outside so I could get some fresh air. This was what I wanted, as I inhaled as much air as I can. Asher started chuckling and I looked at him and smiled.

"What?" I asked and he shook his head.

"Nothing love, it's just that you are so easy to please. I'm glad you are finally feeling relaxed now. That meeting went on forever." I laughed and nodded my head.

" yeah I was really hoping to get out of there as soon as possible and that meeting made zero sense to me since you were all just staring at each other." He sighed and looked down while closing his eyes.

"Let's go somewhere else, I need to talk to you about something important." He took my hand and led me into the forest away from the house. We were walking for at least half an hour when I started to get tired. but luckily, we came up on a cabin and he said that this was where he was leading me to.

He opened the door and gestured for me to go inside and I gasp at how neat and beautiful it looked.

"Like it?" He asked as I started looking around.

"Love it!" I exclaimed which had him laughing.

"Ok I'll give you a tour later if you still want to be with me after I talk to you. If you don't want to be with me, know that I love you and wish you nothing but happiness in life. But that doesn't mean that I will stop fighting for you. I want you to be with me, I felt like we were made for each other  so I want you to be very careful when you chose your answer and please do not overreact." My heart started beating fast and I started fiddling with my fingers because I didn't know what was so important. I hope nothing goes wrong after this, because it's him that I want to be with and no one else.
