Samantha's POV

Chay was right. But of course, I'm not gonna tell him that. It will get to his already egoistic head.

It has been three days since Chay proposed to me, and both our families already decided to have two weddings, one Indian, and one Christian. In three days, they decided when and where to have the wedding.

The Indian wedding will be two weeks from now, and it will be in Goa. Then, two days later, the Christian wedding will take place in a church.

In these three weeks, we will be buying clothes, choosing decorations, all of that stuff.

"Sam, Chay is here." Dad shouts.

"Coming," I shout back as I pull on my dress. I forgot to set my alarm today, and I woke up very late. The consequence of that, I'm rushing.

Quickly combing my hair and putting on very light make up, I grab my chunni and put it on before opening the door and running downstairs.

"Bye dad, bye ma." I shout. They both say bye as I put my shoes on and run out the door.

"Hi." Chay greets me as I get into the car.

"Morning." I say. He gives me a quick peck on the cheek before starting to drive.

"I'll drop you off at the mall now, and pick you up after work."

"Okay." I nod.

****

We come to a stop in front of the mall. Chay parks the car and we both walk into the mall.

"Ah! You guys are here!" Amala aunty says, rushing over to us.

"Hi aunty." I greet Chay's mom.

"You guys came so late!" Aunty explaims, pulling me towards the saree section as Akhil drags Chay away. I take one last look at Chay before he disappears from my view.

"Look at this ma." Aunty tells me as the salesperson pulls out saree after saree. I still haven't found one that I like, and we have been here for almost an hour. Yet, Amala aunty is being very patient with my pickiness in shopping for sarees.

"Here Ma'am." The salesperson opens a beautiful red saree which instantly draws my attention.

"You like it?" Aunty asks, watching my expression as I touch the fabric.

"It's beautiful." I breath.

"How much is it?" Aunty asks.

The salesperson checks the price before replying, "2 lakhs ma'am."

I look up at him, my eyes wide.

"Two lakhs!" I exclaim.

"Only two lakhs?" Aunty says. I turn to her.

"Aunty-"

"You like it right?

"I do, but aunty-"

"Okay, pack it." Aunty tells the salesperson.

"Aunty its two lakhs." I exclaim, my eyes wide in horror.

"It's okay dear, we shouldn't look at price when buying things we like. Plus, you are like my daughter Sam. Anything you want, I will gladly get it for you."

"But aunty-"

"Tsk. Not another word. You like it, buy it. No matter the cost. You understand me?"

I nod, unable to say another word. I have gotten a great family.

"Okay, let's go gold shopping now." Aunty says.

****
We spend the rest of the day shopping for gold and other clothes, and when we finally finish, we have spend close to 10 lakhs on just my stuff alone. We found gold and a beautiful gown for the Christian wedding too. Mom joined us to pick out the gown and veil for the wedding.

I still can't get over spending 10 lakhs in one day alone. I'm tired by the time I get home, and decide to just watch tv and relax with mom and dad. The wedding is in two weeks. I will be married and becoming a family woman in just two weeks. I'm excited to spend the rest of my life with Chay, but I'm also nervous. I barely ever left my parents as a child, and now, once I get married, I have to live without them. But I push that all aside for now. For now, I will spend every minute I have with my parents.

Hey guys! I know it's been a really long time and I apologize for that. I've been so busy, and I got covid two weeks ago so I've been down. School has been very hectic as well so updating has been hard. Plus, Chay and Sam got a divorce, and I've had a hard time updating this book because of that. I'm so sad because they were such a beautiful couple. But I guess some relationships just aren't meant to be. I will be continuing this book as planned. The storyline that I had in mind will not change as a result of Chay and Sam's divorce.

Anyways, hope you guys liked that chapter. I know it was short, but I just wanted to get an update out at this point.

Also, Happy New Year! Love you guys very much and thank you for checking my book out. Please support my other books as you have done this one. And don't forget to comment! I love reading your comments! Love you lots! And please stay safe!
