I was Never Yours in The First Place

Chapter 2

I help her sit down in the seat 

"I can't believe he's gone" she says and rubs her forehead

"calm down" I say she slaps me in the shoulder "Ow!" I yell "what was that for?"

"have some respect Li" she huffs

"I do have respect I just don't understand what this has to do with us" 

"You know me and your father were close friends with him" she says

"Even though were not royalty anymore we still like to keep in touch with who is" she smiles a little

"I'm sure he was nice" I say 

"But why was the Office calling us after all we're no longer royalty anymore that was a long time ago"

"Because" she says "the king did not have any children or relatives either"

"That's sad but I don't understand-"

Suddenly I realise what's going on "No" I say "don't you dare tell me-"

"They want us to take over" she says "we need to pick someone of age, young, responsible,and can lead a country" 

"Now I need to sit down" I grab a seat and sit down "so who are you thinking of?"

"Well" she says "your sister is too young and she hasn't even finished high school yet, your brother is old enough but he couldn't tell a dog to do something let alone a country" 

"Oh no" I say 

"You, however, you're young, of age, handsome, responsible I think you would be perfect"

I sigh and rub my jaw "So I'm supposed to be king?"

"Yes" she said "you can finish your schooling abroad while traveling back to china they said to meet them in the morning to discuss our choice"

"tomorrow? but I have school" 

"you can take your work with you on the plane" she says "were flying first class you always loved being in first class when your were a child, just running around the aisles until one of the attendants have to strap you to your seat" She squeezes my chin "you've grown up so fast'

I smile sadly

"Well pack a bag" she exhales "were going to china"

In the Morning..

we walk up the stairs to the plane and take our seats

I plug in my earbuds and turn on my phone this was gonna be a long flight

When we arrived we walked off the plane with the jet engines roaring in the background

A man in a suit is standing at the bottom of the stairs

"Are you Li and Anh Khai?" he asks 

"Yes" she said "This  is Li and I am Anh"

he shakes my hand "pleasure to meet you I am the general office's Chief, please call me Lin"

He takes our bags, I link my arms to my mothers and we walk to the building

We sit down at a conference table

Lin walks in and takes the front seat "So I hear somebody is going to be king?" he smiles

Mother chuckles "That's why we're here" she squeezes my hand

"So Li we've checked your phone records, your criminal record, your school reports, and your family history which all seem pretty clear to me"

"Thank you sir"
