Chapter 5

Mei's POV

Anh and I go back to the hotel and start getting dressed

there's a makeup girl doing our face

My knee is bouncing up and down on the chair

"Are you nervous?" she asks

"no i'm fine Anh"

"Mhm yeah that wasn't convincing"

I sigh, maybe I was a little nervous

"done" the makeup girl says, she packs up her equipment and Anh hands her some cash

We get up and brush off our dresses

"One more thing" she pulls out a sleek black box and opens the lid to reveal a heart-shaped diamond necklace

my eyes widen

"no" I say 

she laughs and takes the necklace out 

"what's an outfit without some jewellery"

she spins me around to put the necklace on

"You know you don't have to do this for me" I say

"I know, but I want to"

she finishes pinning the necklace on and I turn around 

"Thank you" I wrap my arms around her and give her a hug

"Now" she says and smoothes her dress, "we have somewhere to be"

we walk through the halls and to the entrance doors of the banquet 

"You ready?" she asks

I nod

"More than I'll ever be"

We push through the big doors and walk down the staircase all eyes are on us

Li's POV

I continuously check my watch waiting for mother to come

there's classical music, people chatting the usual stuff, kind of like a ball

suddenly the doors open making a loud booming sound

In walks my mother but she's with someone, my eyes widen

that's her..

that's Mei

But she looked so different so..beautiful 

she didn't look like what she would normally look like at school

her hair was combed out, her makeup was done and that dress.. she looked amazing

I could tell everyone thought so too because everyone was staring at her
