"The tension is rising on the field, folks", Krystal Bailey anticipated during her commentary, just as focused and nervous as the audience was, "with only ten seconds left on the clock, rainbow high can still win this thing! All eyes are on quarterback Aiden Russel, it's all up to him now. He's got the ball, the ball reaches the end zone!!! TOUCHDOWN!!! For the first time in twenty years, rainbow high takes home the trophy!"
The crowd jumped up with enough energy to power a whole city. Everyone went wild for Aiden, who was being carried away by his team mates in celebration. He had never imagined that being a winner would feel that good, but as he looked through the crowd to spot Avery and Ainsley screaming at the top of their lungs and Stella throwing her pom poms in the air for him, he knew that his friends had his back no matter what.
It was getting late, and the field was now empty. Aiden was done packing his stuff as he made his way to the bleachers, his energy drained.
"Aiden, wait up", a familiar voice stopped him. He turned around to catch the looks of the hottest guy in school, who also happened to be his trusty team mate.
"River, what's good?", Aiden tried to keep his cool. He always felt that way around River, everyone did. He had everything one could ever ask for in a guy: the looks, the talent, and the kindness. He's so dreamy-
"Uhm Aiden? You okay?", wondered River in confusion.
"Oh, yeah totally, why?", Aiden blushed of embarrassment, thankful that he could easily blame it on all the running he was just doing.
"I was just telling you about the big celebration party at my place in honor of hour win, see you there?"
"I'll be there"
"Nice", River fist bumped Aiden, "you did great tonight by the way", he added before running off to a group of cheerleaders.
River Kendall, you are my prince charming.
Snapping back to reality, Aiden didn't want anyone to know how he felt towards River, not even his besties, who were waiting for him by the bleachers all along. What if they saw him blush? What if they could tell that he wanted to leave everything and run away with River to a cottage and adopt fourth cats? He soon realised his insecurities were getting the best of him, so he shook it off and approached his long waiting beasties.
"Nice job, Aiden!" praised Jade along with Bella all the way from the back of the now empty bleachers.
"Couldn't have done it without guys", he said blowing a kiss, "see you at River's party"-
"C'mon champ we're gonna be late", rushed Ainsley grabbing Aiden's hand and running behind Avery, who was getting ready to unlock her car.
