Winter break was overrated not only because of its known power of bringing people together but also because of its insane amount of house parties. Despite a Xmas celebration coming sooner than expected, the party lovers had no excuse to say no to Jett Dawson's ultimate birthday party.

Aiden wasn't used to going to parties without Avery and Ainsley, but no way on earth was he gonna reject Ruby, who constantly told Aiden to "get out there".

"I swear Ruby if you leave my side by any chance I'm not getting you those chicken nuggets. I mean, 'getting out there' is a lot to ask from me at the moment".

The duo waited outside Jett's door in the cold snowy night. "Chillax Aiden, I'm right here boo!", Ruby reassured.

They were soon welcomed in and inside a loud packed teen party in the blink of an eye, and Ruby evaporated the second Aiden turned around. Oh goodie.

"Aiden, dude I need your help", someone gripped him, dragging him across the living room towards the pantry in the kitchen, isolated completely.

"Maddie's here, and things are sups awkward between us - long story I'll tell you later - anyway I need you to be my rock over here yannoh...help me look in control", Emerald was seemingly overwhelmed.

"Okay slow down; you broke up??"

"I said it's a long story! So...will you help me?"

"I got your back", Aiden promised.

By the time Emerald realised his plan was never gonna work, him and Aiden found themselves sitting back to back on a bench near the ghosted basketball court, making idle conversation in the midst of the dimly lit garden.

"You know, I actually joined football just to make me look straight, but I actually like it now", laughed Aiden, gradually growing more comfortable telling Emerald things like these.

"No way! You're a total champ at it dude. Like, you should be quarterback FOREVER, I mean you're hot, you got skills, and you're a natural leader".

"You think I'm hot?", Aiden chuckled. He turned his body to face Emerald.

"I'm allowed to think everyone is hot you know", Emerald reassured, "It's a bi thing I-"

Aiden's lips slapped against Riley's, stopping him mid sentence. His hands gripped Emerald's shirt with such passion as Emerald gripped his face.

"Fine I think you're hot", Emerald admitted before they went ahead and continued, not a single word needed to be said.
