Chapter 23

Nandini was admitted in the hospital. She had broken an arm and some injuries but luckily, she was not in a critical condition. The doctor gave her an injection which led her to a deep slumber helping her to ignore the pain. Manik reached the corridor and he was looking for Nandini's room number along with Cabir.

On seeing Manik, Chachi went to him and held his hands.

chachi- Manik beta dekho na nandini ko kya hogya hai...please scold her for being so careless. She listens to you naa...daato usse

Manik said nothing and hugged her tightly. Then, chacha came towards  them and informed Manik that Nandini is out of danger and she would be discharged soon. Also, given the fact that she had a broken arm, all have to take care of her.

Manik- Can I see her?

Chacha- parr beta she is unconscious...you won't be able to talk...kal dekh lena

Manik- It does not matter chacha, I will go and see her...I need assurance that she is fine and I want her infront of my eyes.

Saying this both Manbir went in the room only to see Nandini lying on the hospital bed with some bandages and one of her hand attached with an IV drip. Manik reached the bed and lowered down to kiss her forehead, her chubby cheeks, her eyes, her nose and her hands. He was staring forehead wound. He felt a pang in his heart as it is the same place where she was hurt when Manik pushed her during the Musicanna preparation.

Cabir put his  hand on Manik's shoulder and Manik started crying again.

Manik- I failed Cabir, I could not protect her...Look at my Nandini...she is lying in a hospital bed...I could have lost her Cabir....

Just  then Navya came in and seeing Manik's condition she could not hold herself and told them  everything from receiving the letter and photos to their plans they made. Cabir was angry on Navya for hiding this problem from them.

Cabir- I asked you a zillion time Navya...I asked you naa if there is something troubling you both...why did you lie? So this is why you decided  to stay at Nandini's place huh? NOT TELLING US WAS A BIGGEST STUPIDITY OF YOU BOTH.

Navya got hell scared on seeing this avatar of Cabir but she decides to clear everything.

Navya- Cabir haan to main kya karti? Nandini told me not to tell you both as you were busy in preparing the album and she did not want to disrupt it.

Cabir- You know how dangerous it is to do these things...what if that person harmed the whole family then?

Manik- Cabir relax...look she is already scared don't scare her more. She did nothing wrong instead, she supported her best friend. You know that kitni ziddi hai yeh Miss Murthy...but tell me how she fell down?

Navya- I don't know, the plan was to know whether the intruder will come in or not especially after sending these photographs. My bad luck, I fell asleep. This is why Nandini might have gone downstairs and because of the darkness, she fell down from the stairs.

Manik- No Navya, if a person is well versed with a place, there is less chances for mishaps to happen.

Cabir- what do you mean?

Manik- Look Nandini was in her house, she has been living here for quite a long time...she is well aware of that place. This means that even in darkness, her senses would atomatically help her to move around without getting hurt.

Navya-  iska matlab kya hai

Manik- Iska yeh matlab hai ki she did not fall down, the invader indeed broke into the house and he or she might have pushed her causing her to lose her balance.
