Crisis:
a stage in a sequence of events at which for better or for worse, is determined; turning point. Also, a dramatic emotional or circumstantial upheaval in a person's life.
Waking up to a strange sound outside, it's the middle of the night and this worries me. It's so dark in here, but I don't dare turn on the light.
What if it's those looters again? Oh, it's probably Talion. Why did I get so angry? What was I thinking? Here I am, weak and helpless, yet I kicked him out of my house. I'm so stupid, but this deep-seated anger filled me up to where I couldn't breathe. How could I not be furious when he went along with this twisted plan?
Hearing a loud crash in my garage, I sink in my bed, know something is horribly wrong.
My God, that is not Talion... I need to focus, get myself out of this bed, and hide. This can't be happening to me again.
Sliding my legs off the bed, I slowly lower myself to the floor and crawl underneath. All I can do is pray they don't come into the house. Hearing another loud thump from the garage on the other side of this wall, I cry.
Why is this happening to me?
A second later, whoever is out there opens and shuts the hallway door.
They are inside the house! Please let it be Talion, ignoring my wishes and returning to me.
Hearing someone walking down the hall, I back up to the wall. Grabbing the blanket that fell to the floor, and I cover myself.
Hopefully, if they look under the bed, they will only see this fleece throw. Control your breathing, calm yourself, and relax. It might just be Talion, but I doubt he would be up this early in the morning or banging around my house.
As Ella's bedroom door opens, someone comes in, and I'm petrified. They immediately start going through our things and I am terrified that I will be found.
Where is Talion? Why would he leave me? Because I sent him away, like an idiot.
Drawer after drawer, they seem to be looking for something.
What could they want in my daughter's room?
When they open the closet, I try to see who it is, but I'm too afraid. I cannot move, and this is a living nightmare.
Be strong Cece, do not let these people get away with stealing from you.
Talion whispers, as he knocks on the door, "Cece, are you awake?"
The person in the room hears this, turns, and jumps onto the bed above me. I hear the slide of the sash, and then the bed rises as they climb out of the bedroom window. This person closes the window quietly, and they are gone.
"I hear you in there and I'm so sorry." He says as I cry.
Opening the door, he walks in and says, "Why are you crying, Cece... Where are you?"
He then turns on the light, and I reach my hand out from underneath the bed. Unable to speak, he gets down on the floor and pulls the blanket away from my face.
"My God, what is happening? Why are you hiding? Talk to me." Talion shouts as I shake and shiver.
Pulling me out from the bed, up onto his lap, Talion sees the look on my face. He looks over to Ella's dresser and sees the drawers are all pulled out.
