Walking back to my house from the yard, I feel pretty good about myself. It had been a while since Dan took me to the gun range, but I haven't lost it. After a few targets, it all came back to me. Talion was pretty surprised at what a good shot I was, after all this time.

He was full of pride that the old ball and chain had skills. Talion praised me every time I hit a bottle, which is something Dan could never bring himself to do. They are identical on the outside, but on the inside, these two men are complete opposites.

Opening the door for me, Talion says, "That was amazing, Cece. You surprised me today."

I reply, "Well, thank you for being so supportive. It was a lot of fun."

"Listen, I'm going over to the office and see what equipment I can scavenge for the house. The building wasn't a total loss, Lance said, and the stuff in Josh's basement is way too old. Do you want to come with me?"

Normally, I'd go, but I've made a good impression on him and I want to prove that I'm more confident.

"No, I think I'll stay here to get some things done. We kind of left in a hurry. This place is a mess and when you get back, I'd like to take a shower." I reply.

He says, "Alright, that sounds like a plan and I'd love to join you. I'm a little ripe."

Kissing me, he turns and walks across the street to get into his truck.

No longer am I the damsel in distress, and that's exactly what I was trying to show him today. Yes, I need him, but I'm his partner in this, as well. Talion now knows he can rely on me to take care of myself and aid him if the need arises. Hopefully, I won't need to use my newfound talent.

Cleaning up the kitchen, I put the plates away and wipe down the counters. Soon, my sister will be here and I will leave my beautiful house forever. Someone else may take over this place, but for now, it is still my home.

After an hour goes by, I'm surprised that he has not returned, but I refuse to get upset. He's probably having a harder time finding the pieces we need. Guess I'll do a little packing. When Kelly gets here, I want to get on that helicopter and go. The quicker we leave here, the better.

Sitting on my bed, it hits me, and this is going to be a hard conversation.

How am I going to tell Kelly about Talion? She will be thrilled that I have moved on from Dan. But with his twin? Then, I'll have to explain our history together and that will be harder for her to handle. Once my sister hears Talion is my husband, she is going to freak out. How will I tell her about the kids? How will I tell my babies? Well, I have a few more days to figure it all out and hopefully, Talion will help me with that conversation.

Looking at the clock, he's been gone for two hours now and part of me wants to hop in the mustang and go find him. Wait, we still haven't gone back to get it and I need to remind him of this.

Why did I tell him I'd stay home? What if he doesn't come back? Jesus, look at how I'm acting. Here I am trying to prove to Talion and myself that I'm not a wimp, yet I immediately think the worst. Chill out, Cece.

While sitting on the couch, watching the clock, it's now been three hours since he left to go to the office and I have a terrible feeling. This goes way past being a little late, and I'm afraid for his safety. Going into the kitchen, I hear the front door open and turn to see Talion walk in.

"Oh, thank God you're home? I was so worried about you!" I say as he looks at me with a smile.

Kissing him deeply, he asks, "What has my beautiful wife been up to while I've been gone?"
