In a small kingdom, there was a boy named Atticus, who was peacefully playing with the frogs when a group of boys his age passed by, talking about a sea monster who destroyed other nearby kingdoms and was on its way to theirs. Atticus took this as an opportunity to save his kingdom and go on an adventure past the kingdom walls.

He heads home to tell his parents about his idea. They were absolutely mortified.

“That is far too dangerous,” his father said.

“You could die, and we wouldn't want that,” his mother chimed in.

Atticus tried to protest, but his parents boarded up the door to his room so he couldn’t leave, as a precaution.

Later that night, he sneaks out of his window to go on a walk in the woods. Taking in the smell of wet grass, the rustling of leaves above, and the cool air on his skin. As he walks, he spots a golden frog sitting on the path ahead of him. He walks up to it, picks it up, and looks at it. Atticus pets the frog, who he named chrysós. The frog seems to take a liking to him, and Atticus notices a small paper in its mouth.

Take this golden frog as a companion on your journey to fight the beast threatening to destroy your kingdom.

After reading this note, he heads back home immediately, as this note from the gods only further proves he is the one to fight this monster. He climbs back through his window, grabbing his crossbow and then getting better dressed for a fight.

He heads back out, and runs to the bay. He stops when he sees a strange elderly man standing there. The man turns to face Atticus.

“You are destined for greatness, my boy,” he says, and motions to a small boat beside him. Atticus walks over to the boat, and looks back at the man, but he is nowhere to be seen. Atticus puts his crossbow into the boat along with the frog, and struggles to push the boat off the shore and into the water. He eventually gets it in the water,  and steps into the boat, and begins sailing across the water. The waves begin picking up, and he struggles more and more to get over them. A storm begins to brew in the sky above, striking lightning into the waters. The waves were now crashing down near the boat, and Atticus has a hard time keeping the boat steady.  A wave crashes down onto the boat, causing it to tumble over. Atticus comes back up from underneath and tries to flip it back over. Once he does, he grabs the golden frog, and then dives down to find his crossbow, which was slowly sinking into the abyss below them. He throws himself back onto the boat and proceeds to struggle over the rough waters.

Suddenly, the head of his enemy rises from the water and he is face-to-face with the monster. It roars in anger, and it snaps its jaw at Atticus, but he jumps out of the way just in time to dodge. The monster attempts to hit Atticus with its tail, to which Atticus ducks. Atticus grabs his crossbow and shoots at the monster, but it's hard scales cause the arrow to bounce off. The monster spins in the water, causing a whirlpool, and once again tries to eat Atticus. He shoots an arrow down the monster's throat, and it recoils and roars in pain. The monster dives below the surface of the water, and slams its tail into the bottom of the boat, nearly throwing Atticus off of it.  The monster opens its jaw again and Atticus takes his chance to shoot an arrow. The monster once again roars in pain, and begins making large waves with its tail. It hits the front of the boat with its tail. Spinning it out of control. Atticus grabs the edge of the boat, struggling to stay on, and the monster snaps at Atticus again, causing him to jump into the water to avoid it. Slowly sinking into the depths, he spots a large rock. He swims over to it and climbs on top of it. The monster opens its jaw a final time before Atticus shoots a third arrow. The beast roars and crashes down on the water. Atticus hops onto the carcass and rips a large, sharp tooth from its jaw. He then gets a little freaked out when he hears distant singing and takes that as a sign that he should leave. He gets back on his boat, and the monster sinks deep into the depths of the sea, never to be seen again.

He sails across the now calm waters, and eventually reaches the bay. He walks through the forest, and takes a closer look at the tooth. It was white with shiny gold etchings, and a blue interior where it was pulled from the monster's mouth. He reaches the kingdom, and the people all surround him, asking where he was and if he was alright. He shows off the tooth with pride and is praised by the people.
