Chapter 9

It was already ten o'clock in the evening, and Xiao Zhan was laying on Yibo's bed when he heard a rustling sound outside of the unit. 

Xiao Zhan assumed it was Yibo and dashed to the door excitedly, but to his surprise, a force pushed him back inside the room.

"You?! Arrg!!!" Xiao Zhan screamed in pain as one of the men punched him in the stomach.

"So you're hiding here like a mouse, huh?" says the petite lady in a black dress as she walks around inside the unit.

"Wen Jaojao!" "You wicked witch!" Xiao Zhan is kneeling and being bolstered by two men in both arms.

"I was nice enough to you when you were in Pennsylvania, and what did you give me in return?" "You escaped and even poisoned me to sleep for a week!" Jaojao held Xiao Zhan's jaws so tight. Her fingernails almost sank into Xiao Zhan's skin.

"I told you, I don't like you, and I won't marry you!" Bitch!

"I don't like you either, and who said we were going to marry?" Tsk!!! "I only want your blood to lift the curse in our clan." 

"So that's your reason! Over my dead body!" Xiao Zhan gathered all his strength and managed to push the two men aside. Xiao Zhan tried to escape, but two men captured him again and struck him on the ground. 

"Ugh!" Xiao Zhan growled in pain and curled onto the floor as Jaojao's men kicked him all over his body.

"You idiots! Hold him tightly!" Jaojao shouted to his minions.

"Behave, Sean, we still have an hour before the century blood moon occurs." Jaojao sat on the couch, and Xiao Zhan was kneeling in front of her. 

"Why do you need my blood to lift the curse of your clan?" Xiao Zhan asked, and Jaojao leaned closer to him with a vicious smirk. 

"Since you're going to die anyway, why not tell you the reason?" She leaned her back against the couch's backrest, crossed her legs, and the tip of her red stiletto rubbed against Xiao Zhan's chin. 

"Because only the blood of the special hybrid vampire can lift the curse your ancestors forcefully imposed upon our clan a long, long time ago."

"Hybrid? Are you sure about that? I am just an ordinary vampire. I don't even have powers like others; how can I become a hybrid?"

"Sean, oh, Sean!" Jaojao shakes her head. "That's because you haven't drunk pure and fresh blood until now, which is why your ability hasn't woken up yet." But that's perfect to lift the cures and awaken our clan. Why didn't your parents tell you about this? Tsk!" She sneered 

"You are lying; I am not a hybrid like what you said; let go of me!" Xiao Zhan tried to jerk off his arms, trying to escape, but the four men were holding him firmly, and he doesn't have any more strength either. 

"Madam, the moon will start to appear in a few minutes," informed one of the men who just got in.

"Give me the tablet and prepare the ritual," Jaojao ordered, and the men drew something on the floor. a circle with two upside-down triangles diagrammed inside as well as strange patterns in it. There were also some ancient incantations written, which Xiao Zhan was unable to decipher. Jaojao placed the tablet inside the ring, where the moon is covering the sun beneath.

"You are a crazy witch! Let go of me." Xiao Zhan was trying so hard to escape, but he is very weak now. He needs to drink the medicine his mom gave him, but it was on his unit. 

"Stop resisting, and maybe I'll go easy on you and let you die painlessly." Jaojao pulled him by the collar. "Put him inside the ritual circle." She ordered, and the men dragged him into the ring.
