Experiment 50

Padawan

Master Traye led Eli to the door of the Jedi temple, "Your master is waiting for you."

"Master?" Eli asked.

"Yes. You are now a Jedi Padawan, Eli Strike. Congratulations."

Eli smiled and walked out of the Jedi temple. He saw a Pantoran with silvery pink hair, standing on the steps, her back to the temple, "Hello? Are you lost?" he asked. 

The Pantoran turned to face Eli, her golden eyes seemed to look into his soul, "Hello, young Strike."

"H-hello," Eli stuttered, "Wh-who are you?"

"I am Aliesha, you are my new padawan."

"Master Aliesha, it's wonderful to meet you," Eli said, bowing.

"No need to bow, young one," Master Aliesha said, walking toward her ship, "Let's get going."

Eli followed her quickly. 

A year passed, they fought battle after battle side by side. 

"Master! On your left!" Eli called.

Master Aliesha spun to the right and slashed her saber through a droid, "Eli, behind you!"

Eli backflipped over the droid and sliced in in half from top to bottom.

The fighting ceased for a few minutes.

Eli saw the clones looking at a hologram, then the clones attacked him and Master Aliesha. He deflected as many blaster bolts as he could as the clones he had known for so long, tried to gun him and his master down.

"Run, Eli. RUN!" Aliesha shouted, shielding him from the blaster bolts. Her body twitched as they hit her.

"MASTER!"

"RUNNNN!!!!!" she screamed.

Eli ran, sobbing, away. He felt it through the force the moment his master died, but he didn't have time to mourn her. Eli ran and ran, finally finding a cave to hide in. He was freezing, the hem of his cloak was ripped from dragging through the plants as he ran. He pulled brush over the entrance to the cave to hide it from view

Troopers ran past the cave, not seeing it, "Let's split up, you take left, we'll take right. We have to find the padawan." They split up and ran off. 

Eli curled into a ball, shivering, his cloak didn't help warm him and he couldn't light a fire or the troopers might see the smoke from it. After a while he finally fell asleep.

He and Aliesha were running from the troopers. 

The troopers shot at them.

Aliesha jerked as blaster bolts hit her.

"Master!" Eli cried, reaching for her

Aliesha turned to him, the bullet holes showing, her skin turning gray,  "You abandoned me! It's your fault I died!"

"N-no! You told me to run!" Eli cried.

"Your fault, coward!" she shrieked, her golden eyes looking dead. "If you had stayed I wouldn't have been killed!"

Eli jerked awake, shaking violently, "I'm so sorry Master, I never should have abandoned you," he started crying. After his tears dried, Eli reached out with the force, searching for Lila or any of his friends. He sensed their deaths. None of his friends at the Jedi temple had survived..... "Lila!" he sobbed, she had been his best friend, "LILA!" he cried, "LILAAA!"
