Scientist Ray's POV:

"DAMNIT....how could you loose that many test subjects!!!?? They have tracking chips in them that i had hoped we would never have to use!!"

One of the smaller scientists speaks up "they were activated when they escaped but...they are either out of range, removed or the subjects have died."

I glare at him while everyone else in the room looks at me with wide eyes, probably not expecting the laid back young scientist to yell. But fuck did they screw up big time, by them loosing those subjects it has cost me a good amount of time and money. I glare at everyone in the room,

"find them before i either fire you all or do much worse...and i need a double time on little rose...well subject 327 as you all know her"

I turn my back and walk out of the room, my secretary follows me. They lost almost all the subjects, luckily we were able to capture at least 2. It has been five days since they lost them, i was away on a business trip when i got the call about them escaping. I grunt as i remember my favorite subject that got away,

"dont worry little rose...uncle ray is coming for you, i will not loose you again my successful experiment" 

Subject 327 POV:

The past day that i have been in this family's household has been very nice, its warm and comforting. The food here is amazing, my favorite thing is the fish that they cooked last night, this morning we had what they called pancakes. I begin to drool just thinking about those yummy fluffy round goodness, i jump as the drool is wiped off my chin, i look up and smile shyly when i see Darian's mother standing above me with an amused grin on her face.

"i can make you some more if you'd like"

I shake my head quickly, i whisper a reply "no that's ok...thank you"

I get up and run outside still not used to being around others, fang as always is on my tail. The nice lady yells for me to come back but i just ignore her. I go into the woods not to far behind there home and sigh as i flop down on the ground under a tree. Fang lays beside me and i lay down with my head on his side,

"i don't know what to do fang...im alone here...i have those two little kids who are my siblings now but they are staying with a different family and i don't want to bother them...im scared"

He licks my face and whines softly, i sigh and nuzzle him "im scared to get close...this is all new and terrifying...I'v never had any of this...i don't think anyways...so sleepy to"

I know Darian wont be happy when he learns i ran and hid away, but i cant help it, everything new is scary. I get interrupted in my thoughts when a rock hits my head making me yelp, fang jumps up and growls. I sit up and look around before my eyes land on a group of boys and one girlwho are older and way taller then me, then the girl opens her mouth

"get out of here mutt, no one likes you"

I feel my eyes tear up before i dart away from them, i know i am not like them or even like other humans but...i thought they would understand me on some level, im not sure what a fae is but it was slightly explained to me the night before, unfortunately I was wrong about being accepted. I trip over a tree root and yelped as the side of my head hits what is yet another tree root. I yelp when i land, i don't bother getting up. I just roll onto my back and sigh, i rub my eyes which are now red from crying. I look over at fang who stares at me, i motion him over to which he walks over an flops on top of me. I grab his fluffy tail and nuzzle it

"im sorry fang...i hope the others are having better luck with making friends...i also know i have only been here a day and i have not been out of this yard since i got out of the medical rooms but still...they could be nicer"

My eyes begin to feel heavy and i yawn, i nuzzle more into fangs furr before drifting off to sleep.
