Chapter 12

(hello everyone so sorry for the long, busy life and got bored with the story but i am back. there will be another chapter in a day two so please enjoy this one)

Darian's POV:

I look at the man holding rosie who is frozen in shock and fear as are her siblings, I once again clear my throat as I look at the still smirking fae, "could you please give her to me?" he tilts his head and a quirked brow and begins to walk over. Once close enough he opens is mouth and speaks, "of course but first...who are you and who Is she to you?" I go to grab her, but he pulls her back making her yelp softly to which I glare at him. I growl as best I can "she is my daughter, and I am the one who should be asking who you are" he chuckles and hands her to me and I quickly wrap my arms around her as she clings to me, claws and all.

"Well, if you must know I am Axel Stone" my eyes widen at the mention for his name tells me everything I need to know. He and his family all work for the Royals, the blood line directly connected to the first faes. I instantly bow as best I can and apologize for my rudeness, for if you are rude to even a guardian, which he seems to be, then you can be punished if the guardian sees fit. I hear him chuckle before fingers are under my chin lifting my face "no need to apologize or bow my purple eyed bird" my face instantly heats up.

I pull back a little and clear my throat for what seems like the 20th time, "um...well I uh want to thank you for catching her, she had a scare and tried to run with her siblings. Oh, may I ask why you are here?" the whole time we talk his eyes never leave mine and that darn smirk never leaves his gorgeous lips, "well you rumors spread fast among our kind, so our lady sent us over to see if it was true, and it seems to be. The faes of the north mountains have some hybrid children."

I then begin to panic a little thinking that the humans may have found out or that we would be in trouble for now telling the royals about the children first. He moves a piece of hair out of my face, "don't worry I do not think you are in any trouble; however, she wants me to gather information on the children and if you approve, she wants to meet them." I nod slightly "I will have to talk with rosie first once we have settled back home. OH! I can't believe I didn't invite you, please follow me to my home" I turn around and begin. I hear them start to follow before he speaks "oh yes you never told me your name purple eyes" I blush at the nickname before telling him name, he does not comment but I know he's smirking at the fact that I finally told him.

Once we arrive back home and walk through the doors my parents engulf me in a hug apologizing for what they did to rosie, I mumble its fine before shrugging them off and going to the living to sit. Once I am seated, I motion for axel and his men to sit, my parents then walk in an sit beside me. They look at me in question and I provide the answer, all the while ignoring axels stare. They nod and begin to talk to axel, I see rosies sibling slip away from axels men and run over to me cuddling with rosie. I hold them all tightly and mumble that no harm shall come to them long as they are here, I kiss them each on the head and nuzzle them, something I noticed rosie likes.

I look and blush when I catch axels eyes, he smirks "so how did you come across these children anyways?" I sigh the blush leaving my face and my eyes growing sad at the memory as I tell him of how we found them in an abandoned building shivering, and starving. His eyes narrow at the information we provide but then asks the question that we have no answer to "where did they come from" I shrug and look at the children now asleep "we don't know, they are to terrified to tell me, from what I can gather they were experiments and rosie seems to be the only one who can really speak. The other children can't even form most words, let alone tells us where they came from" I see him nod when I pause and then I continue "I do know that it was nothing good as rosie keeps waking up screaming and crying telling me to stop them before she finally calms down enough to sleep again." I run my hands through rosies hair to which her tail sways sofly, I look up as I see movement, instantly tensing before relaxing as I see axel coming over. He looks at the children sadly before speaking "can I try to pet little rosie?" I pause thinking before nodding, he gently puts his hands on her head and softly rubs "she is pretty it's a pain that shes covered in scars" he moves back with a thoughtful look "I will my lady and ask her if she would like us to investigate this problem that seems to be just outside your borders, ill be back momentarily" I nod, and he leaves the room.

It's not even five minutes that he returns with a smile "she has approved the investigation and has told me she will wait till they are more comfortable here before asking you to travel to her home. Also, I can stay as long as I like little bird" he smirks at me and I blush looking away only to catch my parents both smirking at me knowingly, I roll my eyes and look at the floor mumbling about going to bed and returning rosies siblings to their new home tomorrow, I get up and leave the room leaving them to talk about what to do next. Today has been exhausting and I do not care that it's still early, I am tired so I think I will go to sleep.
