The next morning, after my alarm went off for school and I started to get up, I quickly realized I didn't check that I had an alarm ready for the morning before I fell asleep. "Thank God I have an everyday alarm," I say to myself as I take a deep breath, calming my racing heart. After my heart beat goes back to normal, I continue on with my daily morning routine. As I'm putting on my uniform, I look at myself in the mirror and suddenly decide to secretly add something to my outfit today for a boost of confidence. I was going to be fighting Bakugo after school and all, so some added confidence will be good for me. With that decided, I go over to my closet and pull out a decorative box I have hidden. I open it up and pull out something no one can ever know I have. It's a black leather, studded garter belt. It doesn't have clips to it, so I can thankfully keep it hidden easily. I know such a thing is very....adult-like, but there's something about black leather and studs that makes me feel invincible. Plus, it's my little secret no one knows about, so no harm no foul. Once I add the belt and finish putting on my uniform, I double check in the mirror that everything looks good and that my secret is hidden. I smile to myself in satisfaction and confidence then grab my bag as I head off for school.
Even though I'm not a morning person at all I make sure to get up with enough time to get to school on time without rushing and worrying myself over being late. So my walk to school isn't all that long distance wise, but takes me twice as long as it should because I like to just keep a slow, calm pace. Even so, I still manage to arrive at school fairly early. Once I reach my classroom I notice the only other students here besides myself are Iida (Uraraka and Mina helped me learn everyone's names), Todoroki, Tokoyami, and unfortunately for me Bakugo. I do my best to keep a calm, straight face as I walk in. I need to just pretend my fight with Bakugou isn't going to happen, that way I won't be nervous about it all day. Once I sit down, Bakugo slowly leans forward and whispers in my ear, "Don't forget your promise." Him doing this has completely taken me by surprise, causing me to be frozen in fear, so all I can manage to do is nod back as a response. With that I can feel his breath move away from me as he sits back into his chair. "So much for not thinking about it," I think to myself. As I'm trying to calm my still racing heart, Mina (who's now officially become my best friend at this point whether I like it or not) and Kirishima enter the class together. They're also closely followed by Kaminari, Sero, and Jiro. Once Mina spots me, she runs over to my side and whispers loudly, "Soooo. Does he still wanna do it?" I look at her wide eyed for a second in shock, which quickly goes into a glare as I realize what she's talking about. "Mina. I already told you everything. There's nothing more to it," I answer back firmly. "And don't word it that way. I don't want anyone to get the wrong idea. Besides, to answer your question, he hasn't changed his mind and I know he won't." This causes Mina to make a fake sad face. "That's no fun. I always need to make everything 'spicy'. So if it does end up going that way, you better tell me!" I try not to laugh, but can't hold back a smile. "Of course Mina. I already know not to leave you out of things, especially something like that." With that, the bell rings and Mina rushes over to her desk just before Aizawa walks through the door.
As Aizawa reaches the front of the room, everyone has taken their seats and are ready for whatever chaos he plans to throw our way. "Today, you all will have hero training. Not with me, though. It will be-" Aizawa annonces, while being cut off by All Might himself. "I AM HERE! Coming through the door like a hero!" With that, everyone turns their heads towards the door to see All Might himself entering their classroom. With a sigh, Aizawa gets into his sleeping bag and hides away to take a nap. "Today, you all will have basic hero training with me out on the grounds. But first, you all will need these," All Might says as he takes out a remote and pushes a button. This causes the left wall at the front of the classroom to have panels come sliding out. "As you all may remember, when you got accepted into UA, you submitted designs for your very own hero costumes. Well today is the day you get to show them off and feel like a real hero! Grab your cases and head down to the locker rooms to changed, then meet me outside at Training Ground Beta!" Everyone replies with an excited, "Yes, sir!" and rushes all at once to grab their case. I stay seated for a second, letting everyone go first so I don't get in everyone's way. It's just easier for me to wait a second then to rush in trying to be first. Once I get my case, I quickly follow everyone down to the lockers, excited to see how my hero costume has turned out. When I reach the locker rooms, some of the girls have already started to change. While changing, no one is hiding how excited they are for what's about to happen today in training. Mina, of course, ends up being the first one to voice her excitement.
"GUYS! THIS IS SO EXCITING!" Mina yells at the top of her lungs. She's so loud that it would be no surprise if the boys had heard her. All the girls easily agree with her. "I can't wait to see what everyone is going to look like," Uraraka shares.
"Same here," I say, agreeing with her. "But I'm most excited to see how my costume has turned out." With that said, I then open up my case and gasp out loud. This causes Mina to rush over to see.
"OMG, Y/N! Your costume looks so cool!" Mina says. A few of the girls come over to see, too, and easily agree with Mina. "Hurry and put it on! I need to see you in it!"
"Okay, Okay. Calm down," I reply with a light laugh. After quickly getting into my costume, I rush over to a mirror to check that everything looks good. "Wow," I say under my breath to no one in particular. With a huge smile on my face, I turn around to show my costume to Mina and the others. "What do you all think?" Everyone stops what they're going and turns to look at me. Some have their mouths hanging agap, but everyone is speechless.
"You look so hot, Y/N!" Mina says, running over to give her a hug. "Bakugo is so going to love this," Mina says out loud; maybe even a little too loud. Before I can reply, Uraraka asks, "Bakugo? What about him? Do you like him or something? Even though you guys just met?" This causes some of the other girls to question me, too. With a death glare directed Mina's way, I try to clear the air. "No. I do NOT like him, nor does he like me. Mina, for some odd reason, thinks otherwise. So please, just ignore her." Everyone seems to accept this because they all turn away and go back to helping each other get into their costumes.
I quickly grab Mina's wrist and pull her aside. "Enough Mina! Please stop this. There's nothing between him and I. And if somehow that changes or it becomes anyone else, you will be the first to know. I promise!" I plead to Mina.
With a sigh, Mina shakes her head lightly. "I know you will. We are best friends and all. I just think that he does like you. Trust me, I know these things!"
I pinch the bridge of my nose and reply in defeat, "Fine. Okay. I give up. I honestly don't care how he feels, I know that I definitely don't like him. End of story. I'm here to be a hero. And that's all. If I make a few friends along the way, that's just a bonus. But in no way am I going to fall for anyone, causing me to become distracted from everything I've spent my whole life working so hard for."
With that, I hear some of the girls leave the locker room and head out to Ground Beta. "Come on. Everyone's leaving," I say to Mina as we turn to head outside together. "We don't want to be late, or be the last ones there for that matter."
"Agreed!" Mina says with a small laugh.
