"Hey! Hey, wake up! Damnit, not another one!"
Grimm's eyes shot open at the feeling of a furred hand tapping at the side of their face. They only had a small recollection of what had happened. Honestly, alot of it was a mess in their mind, blurred and smeared together by the haze of rushing water and being grabbed.
And xe screamed.
"Woah woah woah, cool it!" The creature in front of them spoke. Deep black fur, almost like the night sky itself. The distinguishable features on the beast stood out, like white paint on a black canvas. Bright white teeth peering from its mouth, and claws nearly shrouded in fur.
On top of that, this thing was twice xis height. I mean come on, if you saw this at late night, you'd be screaming too.
"Off, Off!!" The teen scrambled back, mild terror rising from their very being. "You- You grabbed me! You were the, the thing!!"
"Dear- Yes, I grabbed you. You could have died! Oh cheese. C'mere, let me help you."
Grimm couldn't really protest, their ankle was yet again grabbed and their body was pulled towards the dark figure. The teenagers small body was hoisted into the air; and it quickly became apparent to them that they had been injured. A sharp, stabbing pain through the left of their torso, causing them to let out a groan of sorts.
"FUCK!"
The creature was oddly gentle, gingerly holding Grimm in their large arms, careful as to not hurt them more. The human had endured enough already, the last thing on her mind was to make it worse. They only wondered what a human was doing in the ravine.
"...You..." Grimm's voice began to trail into a quiet tone. They squinted, having lost their glasses in the ruthless waters of the ravine. Wow, xe looked like a wreck. Squinting, hair sticking every which way, clothes dirtier than before.
"Me?" The creature replied, puzzled.
"You! Yes, yes, you!" Grimm stammered out, the words escaping their head in a jumbled mess. "You! You're who I've been looking for! That, that thing!"
The beast stared back at Grimm, even more confused than before.
"...What?"
"Out my window! B-Butte, downward-?" They spoke in an almost desperate tone. It'd been mere minutes, and they were convinced they sounded insane. "I've seen you! Seven years, you, you were there! I've seen it!"
"And you came here looking for me?" The creature replied, dumbfounded. "How foolish of you! Oh cheese, you could get killed out here! Not all of us are above eating people, you know! You're lucky I got you!"
"Oh." Was all they said. They could've been killed? My my, isn't that a dark thought. What saved them? Luck? Stupidity? Or...
"What's your name?" The human looked up at the oddity carrying them.
"Eh, I don't have much of a name. Erm..." They paused, trying to think of a title.
"Howabout BBR?"
"BBR?" They asked, puzzled once more. "Why that?"
"Beast of the Black Ravine. Sounds catchy."
"Hey, don't be trying to name me like some dumb pet. I'm just going to get you help and get you out of this hellhole!"
"Out? I can't stay?" They had worked so hard to get here! So, so hard! They had waited for the perfect time, and waited so, so long! They could still feel the sting in their feet from hiking up this place, and they were expected to leave? This thing was nutsy if they thought they were going to leave so easy!
"Absolutely not. Why would I let you stay? This place is dangerous!" The oddity set Grimm down, rummaging around a bush and pulling out a dirtier first aid and a surprising amount of bandages and gauze. With steady hands they began to wrap xem, pulling up their shirt to reach the wound beneath. "This wound is an excellent example!"
A rustle was heard a few trees down.
Maybe this creature was right.
Grimm shook their head quickly, brushing off the feeling of danger. "No, no I must stay! Or atleast stay a bit longer! I worked too hard-"
"That hard work landed you with a wound. Stay still, will you?" They tightened the bandages, Grimm tensing under the pressure.
Grimm shut up. They had already been tossed around like a ragdolly. They didn't feel like arguing, xe was exhausted. Wouldn't you be tired, too?
They began to trekk down the path downward, leaves crunching under BBR's feet. More rustling was heard. It was getting closer. And was getting frightening .. and yet, their curiosity grew.
"...I have to stay a little longer."
The creature, now dubbed "BBR" (not to be mistaken with a certain robot), lowered their head to look at the teen. Well, as far as looking goes. Grimm had not yet seen a pair of eyes.
"Go home."
"Do we have an issue here?"
Ah, shit.
