Miu's POV:
"You really want to know why I look sad when you call me your friend and why I sometimes feel the need to avoid you?" I ask my voice quivering. He paused, but didn't turn back to face me.
I guess it's now or never.
I gathered my thoughts, thinking about how I should say the words. I mean, it's best just to be blunt right?"I like you, Yoichi." I mumbled quietly, yet still audible enough for him to hear.
He slowly turned around with confusion written all over his face.
"Huh? What did you say?""Don't make me repeat myself - the situation is embarrassing enough as it is." I state annoyed. Like sheesh I probably look like a tomato right now.
"No, I really mean it, I genuinely didn't hear what you said. It's really windy, so you're going to have to speak up."
I huffed, mentally preparing myself to repeat the embarrassing words all over again.
"I said, I like you." I nervously put, once more anticipating Yoichi's response.
"Seriously, you're going to have to speak louder - weird how the weather suddenly turned pretty bad all of a sudden." he again repeated.
I swear to god, this bloody author always has to make love confessions so bloody dramatic - fine if she wants dramatic, I'll give her dramatic.
Another gust of wind blew fiercely across the rooftop, my hair blowing all over the place behind me. I took a deep breath, mentally preparing myself for the embarrassment afterwards, and physically preparing my vocal cords.
I swear to god, if he doesn't hear me this time, so help me-
Here it goes, third times the charm.
"I SAID, I BLOODY LIKE YOU YOICHI!" I shouted - as you can see, I was pretty riled up about the whole situation.
"What?" he asked in disbelief, either not fully registering my words properly, or I'm seriously going to have to take him somewhere to get his ears checked.
There was a brief pause, the look of confusion morphed into that of a sad realisation.
"You like me just as a friend then, I'm guessing." he sadly smiled at me, whilst I mentally face palmed at the boy's stupidity.
Like honestly he's making Yuu seem smart - no offence (ok, actually plenty of offence, Yuu's practically known for being a moron.)
"Oh my gosh Yoichi, how obvious do I need to make it - I like you romantically dumbass."
He looked frozen in place for a moment, clearly not knowing what to do.
I mean, I get it.
That was one hell of a build up to a confession. I'm not surprised the boy's at a loss for words.
However, he clearly wasn't sure how to respond which kinda hurt.
"I'm guessing the feelings aren't mutual, but I'm sure we can still be friends after this - so, erm, yeah I guess ima head out now before it gets anymore awkward."
I began walking towards the exit, attempting to head back to my dorm room, till a firm arm grabbed me in place.
I slowly turned around, not really sure if I wanted to meet his gaze, but as soon as I did - boi was I in for a surprise.
A genuine heart-felt smile.
"Are you sure?" he stuttered, nervously, as if I'd suddenly claim take backsies.
"You know Yoichi, for a boy as young as your age, I'm quite shocked to know you have hearing issues. Yes, you bloody numpty, I like you romantically if ya haven't noticed."
Clearly I've been spending way too much time with Sakumo.
We both stood there quietly for a moment before we both burst out into laughter.
Yeah, I know, we've both officially lost it.
"As amusing as this was, I'm going to need an answer - please be gentle on my poor heart, okay?" I said, half joking and half serious.
"I like you too." he breathed out, bashfully turning his head away from me.
I'm a prick for doing this and ruining the moment, but ya know confirmation is necessary.
"What, as a friend?" I mocked, waiting for a response.
"No, you bloody numpty - romantically." he equally shot back, turning himself back towards me - a small smirk on his face.
Holy shit, I didn't know this sweet, innocent boy was capable of being sassy let alone being able to smirk.
This new found confidence is kind of hot- ok Miu you really need to chill yo beans. He let go of my arm, his nervous state resurfacing once more.
"So, now what? Is this the part where I ask for you to be my girlfriend?" he mumbled clearly feeling very shy.
A small smirk of my own made its way across my face, deciding I'd beat him to it.
"Yoichi Saotome, would you do me the honours of being my boyfriend?" I dramatically flared, outstetching my hand out towards him.
You guys should know by now, I'm a sucker for females taking the lead.
He simply rolled his eyes, before interlocking his own hand with mine and replying, "yes, I do."
Before he knew it, I pulled him into a hug whilst he let out an adorable little "Eek" in response. Clearly, I caught him off guard.
"Sheesh, a little word of warning next time, Miu." Yoichi grumbled, probably embarrassed by the squeak he let out, but still returned the hug.
This is nice. Ok, bit of an understatement - this is freaking amazing.
Finally.
I, at last
got the guy I wanted.I'm pretty sure that deserves one hell of a round of applause, no?
