Smile of innocence
The goddess sneaked outside of the palace to meet Callum. She is guarded by his parents who are the god of mischief and the goddess of knowledge. Throughout her life, she’s taught to be ignorant to beings unlike them because they could be either a hindrance or a burden. Her mother once told her that her father is the last son of Uhaddah and he must take care of all the things that Uhaddah created.
She wonders why does a boy living by the lake seem to be just like her?
All of their guards are all built by her father out of the roots that Uhaddah gave before he turned back from the heavens.
They’re formed like a figure of a man but the difference between their families’ characteristics can be quickly distinguished even without looking intently. Upon thinking, she proceeds to a plan to befriend Callum to clear her mind by confusing thoughts.
Callum is patiently waiting at the bulk of rock while feeding the fishes. It’s like he’s waiting for nothing but his heart tells him that he should be patient for something to happen. He jumped when something dropped from a tree. The girl from yesterday came back and now is covered with blue leaves from her hair to her dress.
“You scared me, lady goddess. Why are you looking at me from there?” he asked with a worried tone
“I just thought it would be nice to scare you a bit.” she giggled while fixing her golden hair.
“You came back.” He signaled the space beside him and the goddess gladly sat.
The goddess took out her flute and start playing it while closing her eyes. Callum stared at her while swaying his head and feeling the sound coming from an object he don’t know what to call.
The wind surrounded them but it was just gently touching their skin, the goddess’ hair glowed while the fishes fly around them. The leaves flew with the air and like birds moved rhythmically with the stroke of notes.
The goddess slowly opened her eyes and met Callum’s gaze and from that moment she had her second thoughts to take advantage of Callum. The magical scenery brought them as one in a frame of innocence.
“Father.” she went to her father’s room. Hoping to get what she promised.
“My daughter, what brought you here this late?” his father asked.
“Mother told me to bring some tea for you.” Carrying the tray, she tried her best to hide her nervousness.
“Put it on my table and go to sleep.” She put the tray on the top of the table and is about to go outside but shifted her gaze.
“Father?” she asked to caught her father’s attention from reading.
“Tell me right away, Leviosa.”
“Can I borrow your harp?” she politely asked.
“I thought you’re just interested in flute, have you changed your mind?”
“ I...I just wanna explore music to kill my boredom in this palace, father.” Her father looked at him intently and smiled. Glad that his child has been trying to be more pleasing.
“Go in the music room and get the manual at one of those boxes, it will help you a lot if you wanna learn.”
“Thank you, father.” She bowed and made her way outside the room.
She looked for the harp inside her father’s music room but in her shock, there are a bunch of harps in that room. Being undecided, she just took the most unique harp—kind of small but made out of glass and took the manual then left the palace to go to Callum.
“Callum!” Leviosa shouted and looked for him.
“Where are you, Callum?” She worriedly looked around, shoving the bushes but still, she couldn’t find him. Her worried face became scared and she is about to cry.“Levia!” Callum surprised him from behind and in that second her tears fell and sob herself out.
“You...scared me. I thought you left.” She sobbed and her nose is now red and her tears are shining while falling from her cheeks.
“I’m so sorry, Levia. I’m just trying to surprise you.” He wiped Leviosa’s tears with his hands.
“What is that?” he asked referring to an object that leviosa’s had in her hand.
“Oh, it’s a harp, I want to learn this with you so you can play with me before ‘that’ time.”
Leviosa handed the harp to Callum.“Is this for me?” Callum is still shocked and fascinated while holding the harp.
“Yes! Here’s the manual, so you can learn even when you’re alone.” He handed the manual and smiled.
“I...don’t know how to read.” He sighed in disbelief. Even the symbols make his head ache.
“Maybe I’ll teach you how to read and write first and I’ll teach you how to play this when I finally master the chords.”
“Thank you so much, Levia.”There's gratitude in his voice.
“You’re always welcome.” They smiled at each other and started their first lesson.
