Donghyuck could only focus on the loud beat of his heart, along with the game in front of him.
He was in a breakaway, with no other defenders besides the goalie to prevent him from winning, this put much pressure on the young male.
It was now or never, the final shot that would decide who won - his team, the NCT U Dinosaurs, or the Gorillas, the opposing team from another university.
Although you couldn't clearly see his face, you were confident that he would come out successfully as the winner, observing him practice diligently for the past few weeks. Even if he didn't, you were proud of him for already doing so well and wanted to show your full support.
A week ago, your boyfriend was mumbling his worries, face buried in the crook of your neck while you waited for the pizza you ordered to arrive and gave him the confidence booster he needed at the time.
The people watching - mainly university students from both schools, stayed quiet with anticipation or concern for what would happen, some even with disinterest due to being dragged to the venue (your friend Doyoung for example, who complained about freezing his ass off and not being able to practice for the musical even though he's gone through it for weeks).
Moving forward, Donghyuck moved to the right which the goalie mirrored, only to suddenly shift to the left and push the puck forward quickly - a deke, which fooled the goalie who had just missed the puck.
"And the biscuit is in the basket!" Johnny, one of yours, Donghyuck and Doyoung's other friends announced, making those rooting for the Dinosaurs stand up and cheer. Your boyfriend was being carried by his teammates with glee, after they shook hands with the Gorillas.
"Doyoung, did you see that?! It was like, out of a Disney movie or something!" You perked up, making Doyoung nod and laugh in response, "Let's go and gree-" Before he could finish, however, you had rushed down to meet your boyfriend.
As soon as he spotted your figure, Donghyuck opened his arms for a hug, throwing his helmet into Mark's unwilling arms.
"Honeeyy!", but after embracing you for a few seconds, he paused and blinked rapidly, "Hey, is that my other jersey...?"
You grinned, letting go of your lover to turn your body around, showing the clothing item off with a proud huff, "Yup! I know you've been missing it, but I didn't wanna ruin the surprise."
"(Y/N) wouldn't stop bragging about her surprise in the car until Backstreet Boys came on," Doyoung rolled his eyes with a grin, shaking Donghyuck's hair and receiving a yell of protest in return, "I really wonder who's your number one fan."
One of your other friends, Jaemin, took a photo of you and Donghyuck laughing together, both jerseys facing the camera in the candid shot, "I'll send it to you guys once it's printed!"
"Fine by me, now lemme give my baby a kiss." Leaning closer towards your face, Donghyuck closed his eyes and puckered his lips, only for you to sprint away and chuckle loudly. "I'm getting colder, babe! And you're probably suuuuper sweaty, I'll just wait for you at the front!"
Donghyuck whined loudly, making all your friends still present in the building amused, as he tried to quickly head to the change rooms to chase you.
"(Y/N) seems pretty energetic today, is it just me?" Sungchan, the newest member of the team, questioned, making Mark shake his head, "(Y/N)'s always like this during actual games, whether we win or not."
Ten sighed, "Ah, young love. When I was-" "You're not that older than us, Ten!" Jeno pointed out, as Yangyang snickered, "Okay, grandpa, I'll get you some lunchables for your frail teeth."
The Thai boy scoffed, "Excuse me?! The audacity you have, Yan-"

Before the remainder of the team could enter the change rooms, Donghyuck bursted out of one of the rooms, his uniform haphazardly shoved into his locker, as he waved to them, "I'll see you guys at Chenle's afterparty!"
Doyoung, sitting in the car already, watched with mirth as you sprinted to the car, Donghyuck trailing behind to hopefully steal a kiss from you.
"Babe! Just one!" Quickly, your boyfriend twirled you around, puckering his lips for (what seemed for him to be) the 127th time and leaning in quickly to capture your lips in a kiss, "All that trouble for one kiss, Donghyuck Lee I'm starting to think you're desperate."
"Me? Desperate?" The aforementioned boy scoffed, "I'm just desperately in love with you."
"You're gross." You squished his cheeks, making him pout, "My gross, but adorable Fullsun."
Before you two could lean in for another kiss, the sound of a car honking made you both jump.
"Quit kissing you two losers! You can do that on the way to the party while I drown my ears in, ugh, Britney Spears' songs."
