Why did it feel like everyone was judging you for being a young mother? Maybe it was simply paranoia creeping in. Or you were just being too conscious about your surroundings.
'Just because some people at school did it, didn't mean everyone else would judge you. Yours and Mark's parents are fine with it.' You reminded yourself in an attempt to repel the more negative thoughts, but it was hardly working.
No one was even looking at you weirdly, all minding their own business at the grocery store.
Well, save for one old guy who gave you a dirty look earlier. He got scolded by his wife though, so the nasty look didn't last for long.
You were pregnant, about a few months in, with a bump to prove it. Usually you would stay home when you had no classes to take, but your boyfriend Mark was currently busy at his job and you were in dire need of tuna kimbap as there was none at home.
You decided to grab whatever else you were craving, such as chocolates, pickles, but you didn't overload the basket in your hand.
Luckily the grocery was only a five minute walk from your apartment, so you didn't have to take a long trip.
You looked at your surroundings to ensure that really, no one was looking at you whilst you stood in line at the checkout area, waiting for your groceries to be scanned and paid for.
As soon as you looked out the window, you locked eyes with a familiar face. Your boyfriend, surprised that you were at the supermarket, quickly made his way in and walked over to where you're standing, taking the basket from your hands.
"I'm not struggling, if that's what you're thinking." Aware that he was doing this because he was worried about your own safety, you knew you really weren't in any danger. It made you a bit annoyed that everyone treated you like some sort of fine china, but you understood why - you were, well, a bit careless at times.
