A different path (Paused)

End of the year

It was close to the end of the school year, people were packing their things and spending time with their friends because they wouldn't see them much over the holidays, Sirius's twin sister Persephone had different plans, she was going to talk with Sirius's best friend James Potter, they were walking to a secluded area because the topic of conversation she set out to talk about would be considered treachery against her family. They searched for a place and soon found a small crevice in the wall wide enough for 2 people and they put up muffle charms so no one could hear them. 'Persephone, what is this about?' James asked confused, he eyed her wearily, he knew she was on the dark side but he didn't know that the dark side was good. 'I know that Sirius is going to run away from home, away from our mother and father. I want to join him with Regulus.' James was shocked 'I would have to tell my parents that there are 2 other people coming with him, but we have the room and it might be nice to have a few more people around. I would also have to tell my parents about your affiliations (she nodded) they wont be pleased about it, but if you sit them down and explain everything I'm sure they will understand.' he said because he was lonely at his house alone with no one to talk to much besides his parents. 

She thought that he would deny her and Regulus going with Sirius but she was thankful that he let her. 'Don't tell Sirius yet, I'll tell him.' James nodded, the let down the charms and looked around for anyone coming and saw no one, as they walked to the courtyard they were talking about Sirius and the pranks the Maurauders pull on people. Persephone had told James and Sirius to leave Severus alone because if they didn't they would get on her bad side and you don't want to know what happens when you get on her bad side. They soon got to the courtyard and went their separate ways to avoid suspicion. 

Persephone went to find her brother Regulus while James went to Remus and Sirius. Persephone found Regulus with one Severus Snape, she walked up the corridor to where they were talking. she was as quiet as possible but some how Severus heard her 'Hello Persephone (he turned to face her) I figure you were there, do you want to talk to your brother?' He eyed her 'Yes I need to talk to Regulus, (she hugged him) and I want to see you.' she felt him hug back and rest his chin on her head. 'I've missed you my dear' he said just above a whisper 'As have I my love.' he kissed the top of her head and let go of her. Persephone turned to her brother and simply said 'He said yes' she knew that Regulus would understand, she saw his expression turn from emotionless to one of happiness Regulus went to his sister and gave her a side hug that was all the contact she was going to get out of him. 

Persephone hasn't told Severus about her leaving home to live with the Potters, she knew that he would not like it, but he would soon get over it because they had stopped bullying him and weren't passing snide comments towards him. Lily however had moved away when they were in 3rd year, Severus didn't know where to, they had kept contact for a few weeks but then the letters stopped coming. 

The trio walked to the Slytherin common room, Persephone and Severus were walking hand in hand, while Regulus was think of ways he and siblings would sneak out. When they got there Persephone went to her room to finish packing her stuff and get her pyjamas on, so she didn't have to do it later, she didn't want to leave anything behind because she's a bit sentimental. Her door opened and Regulus walked into her room, he sat on her bed 'I have a plan, for when we leave the house.' she nodded in acknowledgement 'Well I thought since you can do magic outside of school, we could shrink our stuff and put it in a small bag that one of us will carry. We will tell mother and father that we are going for a walk and then we wont go back.'  

Persephone had just put her picture frame which had a picture of her, Regulus and Sirius from a few months ago in it. 'Or instead of telling mother and father we are going out, we could just wait until they leave and then go to James's' She put all her bags together and got a small one which she put some of her sweets that she bought from Hogsmeade, her wand and a book she placed the bag next to her bed and went to sit next to Regulus on the bed, 'Do you think they will look for us?' Regulus asked his older sister 'I think they will, but not for long. We would be disowned by the time you can say Lord Voldemort.' 

They were talking for a while longer when suddenly Persephone's arm where her dark mark was started to hurt, she stood up and transfigured her clothes to something more respectable to see the dark lord in, as she was putting on her shoes and cloak her door opened and it was other death eaters that were still in school including Severus. 'Come on lets go.' One said in the back, Persephone bid her brother goodbye and left with the group. They walked to the forbidden forest meeting other death eaters from different houses along the way, they all got to a point where they could apparate from and headed to Riddle manor. 

The group of around 15 teenagers walked into the manor and went to the dining room where all the meetings take place. When they walked in they noticed that not many people had shown up, Persephone notice that her parents were there and had the usual look of annoyance on their faces, she went to go and sit next to her parents who glared at her, 'Where is Regulus?' her mother asked 'He's asleep, we were packing all day and had to do some work for some teachers.' she said looking away from her mother and towards the dark lord, who was looking at them. 

The meeting went along as usual, the 'Light side' was discussed at length, their plans, members, etc. At the end of the meeting everyone was dismissed except from Persephone, she was asked to stay behind, she told Severus to wait for her outside and she'll only be a few minutes. 

She walked towards Voldemort and he took of his glamour, so he now looked like a 20 year old man with dark eyes and black hair. 'Persephone, I want you to do something for me.' he gestured for her to sit next to him 'Yes my lord?' she made eye contact with him 'I have two tasks for you. I want you to take this (he handed her an envelope) but don't open it yet. I want you to open it when your curiosity is at it's limit.' she looked at the envelope and put it in her cloak 'What is the other task sir?' she asked looking back at him 'I would like it if you could become a teacher at Hogwarts and ask your boyfriend to do the same. As I understand it he's very good with healing and potions.' 'Why become a teacher, if you don't mind my asking sir?' she asked him with curiosity shining in her eyes 'I need spies at Hogwarts, and someone to take over for me when I'm away from the death eaters. I think that person is you, I want you to gather followers for yourself and give them your own dark mark, make your own group and they shall be under my command as well as yours.' she nodded and he gave her a signal that she was free to go, she walked out of the dining room and made her way outside where Severus was waiting for her. 

They apparated back to Hogwarts and saw that the others had already left, they started to walk back to the common room, Severus asked Persephone what Voldemort wanted to talk about but she said that she will tell him on the train when they leave. Once in the common room Persephone walked to her room and saw that Regulus was asleep on her bed, she went to get Severus so he could help her move him to his own room. 

After the put Regulus to his bed they went to their own rooms and fell asleep. Persephone dreamt of her, Regulus and Sirius being a family again without their parents.
