you came to me with flowers in your hands.

"happy valentines', bestfriend," you'd always say to me every 14th february since we knew each other.

happily, i received your flowers. that same day after 4 years, you confessed to me with hopes in your eyes. one that i will never forget. your smile that has lit me up in my darkest days. i had some issues from home that only you know of. it was our little secret.

still, you stuck by my side like nobody else. you sent me to school, walked me to class. you fetched me from class to the cafeteria and we talked about almost everything. you accompanied me eating at the rooftop because i hated noisy environments. your buddies welcomed me with open arms, my buddies welcomed yours the same. it felt like a second family, though you don't necessarily feel the same way.

you sent me to work even if it meant you'll end up a little late for yours'. oh how i hate pretty privilege. you'd fetch me from work since i work longer hours than you, then we'd be in the library studying. besides constantly being shushed by the librarian and eventually being kicked out.

i have always smiled for you. i don't regret faking it for you. i didn't want you to worry unnecessarily. unfortunately, you always realised. you became a safe place for me, way before we got to where we are now.

so i said yes to your question, yet again you're beaming a huge smile on your face.
