CHAPTER ELEVEN – Furniture, Big Snakes and Small Beds

Harry wasn’t allowed to go to London for at least two more weeks, and for those two weeks he was still as quiet, meek and silent as ever. The seventh year court had two more victims who were Susan Bones and Daphne Croft. Both did well and were embarrassed horribly, but they survived and it was over. Harry hadn’t attended the last dance which was the night before and he’d just taken his Saturday morning run. He shaved and dressed nicely in slacks and a shirt which were not new, but were still crisp and nice as Albus expected him to look on weekends. He’d just brushed his teeth and was finished when he came back to his room to get his Anthropology book for a nice relaxing read outdoors to enjoy the day.

“Hey,” Seamus said. Harry looked. “What’s up?”

“Nothing. I was just going to read outside today for a bit,” Harry said.

“Want to go flying this afternoon? I just got back from checking the pitch schedule and Madame Hooch is on duty to allow students leisure flying time today starting at one,” Seamus said.

“Yeah. I might. Thanks,” Harry said. Harry left the dorm room and was walking the hallways when he saw Albus speaking with Ron and Hermione in the hallway just outside the dining hall doors. Harry slowed considerably and did a mental sweep of all three of them and Albus looked at him immediately. Harry grinned just a bit.

“Nosey,” Albus said.

“Always,” Harry said. “I had to know if I was in trouble for something.”

“Have you done something to warrant punishment?” Albus asked.

“You tell me,” Harry said. “If eating, sleeping and studying are offenses then I am guilty, sir. Was there something you wanted with me? I feel it on you.”

“Yes,” Albus grinned. “I was wanting to take you somewhere with me today if you don’t have plans.”

“He doesn’t,” Hermione said. Harry looked to her.

“I might,” Harry said. “As a matter of fact I just told Seamus that I’d consider a bit of leisure flying today on the pitch at one since Hooch will be there supervising students wishing to fly today. So there.”

“Um, buddy, I think you need to go with Albus,” Ron said with a grin. Harry was suspicious.

“Why?” Harry asked Ron and then snapped his head to Albus with a grin. “You are blocking their thoughts from me, you vile creature. Stop that. I have always had access to their minds. You have no right.”

“And you have no right at being in our brains without permission,” Hermione argued.

“Your mind and Ron’s are fused with mine so much I can’t tell the difference anymore,” Harry said. “I stay in your minds so much that over the summers I nearly lose what little sanity I do have until you return.”
