The War { Gray X Reader } #2 IN GRAY X READER

Promise?

When we leave the guild, we decided to walk through town, I could tell just by the people's nasty expressions they recived letter of war. I could hear whispers; since my Dragon Slayers ears can hear for miles. And what they were saying, really made my mood go down.

"Do you see those disgusting wizards?" A large woman In a fancy purple outfit whispered.

"Hm, why yush. Dis wurld murst gurt rud of dem wrild animrals." Said a french looking guy, with a fancy tux and curly mustache.

When I wasn't looking in front of me I felt as if I stepped on something. I look down a see a ragged down in a pink dress and long black hair. It also had button eyes with tanned fabric for skin. I pick it up and up comes this little girl with red hair and a purple shirt with overalls. She Couldn't be more than 6 years old.
"Excuse me. May I please get my doll back?" She asks showing the most kindest smile I've ever seen.
"Course ya can." Gray says returning the smile. I bend down and hand her it.
"Thank you miss! One day i'll grow up and become a Fairy Tail wizard!" She giggles. I guess she say my emblem on my chest.
"I'm sure one day you'll be the most strongest wizard this world has ever seen." When I say that it reminded me of what my father once said to me...I push the thought aside, and pat her on her head. Wrong move.

"Get your filthy hands off her you beast!" I hear a voice screech and I look up to see a thin woman, with a pointy nose. She had on a pink blouse and matching pink skirt. Yellow high heels with a golden scarf. She had bright pink lipstick and bright, yellow hair.
"How dare you touch my child! You wizards need to get off our earth! Humans rule this land, not some mistakes! Someone call 911!" She made a huge scene.
"Mommy she didn't do anyt-"
"Its okay sweet pea, mommy's here now!" she squealed and picks her up. Soon after a crowd forms in.
"How dare you hurt a child?!" I head a baker says.
"You mistake's!"
"Get Away!"
"We'll kill ya all!" I kept hearing these words running through my head. Why did I become a wizard?! why why why...

"The people who truly love you, were around you this whole time."  Gray Said.

"Hey! We didn't do anything to hurt you! You humans want to start war with us!" Gray jumped in a shot me back into reality.
"You hear this boy? He thinks its our faults! ha!" And the crowd burst's into laughs.
"Liar! We received a letter this morning saying how your magic council wants to start war with us! That we can never live in peace! That we have 30 days till war! You wizards want a fight? well you'll get one!"

I finally understood. I faced Gray and knew he figured it out too.

When we ran away from the crowd we found a cliff and decided to sit down and catch our breaths.
"We've been tricked." I pant.
"Someone wants us at war. Humans and wizards. But why? How do we even know that it was your father started this war? What if he lied, like he did to the people? What if that map was a trick?" Gray asked laying down on the green grass. I stayed silent.
"Well. We'll never know 'till we try." I respond laying down next to him.
"How could anyone be so heartless? We were fine with the humans just a couple days ago. Now look. Next thing ya know we're at war with 'em." He says watching the white clouds flow in the sky.
"We're humans Gray. Wizards or not we are all still people. And no matter who you are, there will always be evil. It's the problem with this world. We sin everyday but still think we're all perfect angels. We think everything's going to be fine tomorrow. That we'll live life like any other day. Not thinking about the future, when really...its all a lie. It's never okay. because people are dying everyday. No matter who you are, you'll always be a target. One way or another. This is all a game and only the strong survive. In less than 30 days, we'll see if we can defeat the final stage of the game." I whisper still looking up.
"I saw the kids, playing outside. Kids that go to school like every other day. Waiting for that final bell to ring. They don't realize how lucky they are. Most kids live through hell, they don't even have their own parents. Some are starving on the streets looking for a place to call home. Kids everyday, going home waiting for their parents to cook dinner. Playing on their video games minding they're own bussiness. Such a shame they don't know what this world is really made of..."

We didn't speak for the next 10 minutes. I forgot why we even came out in the 1st place. "26 days left. Then it's a blood battle...Gray." I turn to him and he looks at me.
"I'm scared. Our kind, could be extinct. All because of the evil in this world. I'm afraid...afraid of what will happen on the 30th day. Innocent people will loose they're lives if we don't do something...and I'm-I'm just so scared.." I start crying again. And I realize Gray's arms we're wraped around my body. for an ice wizard, he's really warm...like a little piece of  heaven..
"It'll be okay...shh.. I promise...we'll make it through this. We're family.." Gray says running his hand through my hair as I calm down a bit. For some reason, I felt safe, like I didn't want to leave his arms...I didn't even realize I fell asleep.
