Kazuya Sasaki's destiny has been decided for years now, an air of certainty in the winds of tomorrow, and yet everyone seems to think it's stained into the seeping bloods of his past. For humans more powerful than the rest they really are so predictable, expecting Kazuya to act on the vengeance and anger that he simply does not harbor.
He really doesn't understand why they want him to spend his life hunting down the cursed spirit that murdered his whole Clan (all but 2– his mothers; 3 if you count him), for what anger could drive him to lead a life such as that? He had been 3 years of age at most when it had happened, and even if he could remember it (which he very clearly doesn't), there is no child in this world whose innocent soul could ever be tainted by that thirst for revenge. Not in the magnitude they want for him.
If they could kidnap him and cultivate him into the powerful sorcerer he was meant to be in another lifetime they most certainly would, but the opportunities have long since passed. Even if another arose, his mothers were apart of that same family and their power were to be feared. Mio and Michi would have no qualms in destroying every jujutsu sorcerer and cursed spirit in the world if it meant Kazuya's safety.
Kazuya is not ignorant though. He has no interest in the same life that destroyed the lives of his loved ones. All he wants is peace, a quiet life surrounded by ordinary people with the most mundane job possible. He would love to be a librarian or even better yet an accountant.
And as the years go by maybe his jujutsu blood will be forgotten, watered down generation by generation until his great-great grandchildren do not even have the ability to harbor cursed energy. That is truly his one and only goal when it comes to the world of jujutsu sorcery— for the Sasaki Clan to be forgotten.
But the most powerful sorcerers do not forget, and Megumi Fushiguro has a destiny most opposite that of Kazuya Sasaki (Megumi will become an unstoppable force, this Kazuya knows).
The two are opposite sides of a coin— fate cruelly melding them together in a way where they are never meant to see eye to eye, always looking toward futures that are on opposite sides of a spectrum, always hoping to reach different goals. Mio and Michi insist that Kazuya must let go of that bond if he truly wants to be free of this secret society but coins are not something you can simply split in half.
And despite his efforts, Megumi simply will not let go.

The first time Megumi Fushiguro entertained the idea of Kazuya Sasaki joining him at Jujutsu Tech, the blonde nearly left him then and there. How dare Megumi even ask such a question with all that he knew? It was a betrayal fit for prison.
Fushiguro easily recognized the look that settled over Sasaki's gaze, and had to hold himself back from squirming under his dark eyes. They had been friends (was friends the right word anymore?) far too long for the black haired teen to be intimidated by any looks that meant no real harm.
"You have some nerve asking that," Kazuya voiced his exact thoughts, a new determination setting in his bones. He silently vowed there would be a day when a simple cafe lunch would not lead to such emotional anguish.
"I know, but," Megumi paused and allowed his eyes to soften as they graced over the faint freckles on Kazuya's tanned cheeks. "Just sleep on it, will you?"
Kazuya's frown deepened as he reached over to cradle Megumi's hand with both of his own, fiddling with his counterpart's slender fingers as he looked him dead in the eyes. "No, Megumi, I will not."
The older boy (older by a few months... three to be exact) responded by halting Kaz's limbs, trapping them firmly in his own hold. "I won't drop it."
"When do you ever?" He sighed, shoulders relaxing. "I just wish to be weak, Megu, I don't think you could ever understand."
"Eugh, you talk like an old man."
The words meant more to Kazuya than Megumi would ever realize.
(( a/n )) its short but i actually like it😁 that being said chapters may get repetitive since theyre all focused on the same topic (megumi trying to get kazuya to go to jjtech) so my apologies
