"i don't wanna watch tv anymore."

y/n sighed and picked up the remote, clicking the television off.  the two stared blankly at the dark screen.

"what do you wanna do?"

"i dunno,"

she looked over at him from the opposite side of the couch.

"that doesn't help at all."

"hm.."

they sat in silence for a couple minutes, mindlessly scrolling through their phones.

today was boring.  there was nothing going on on social media, nothing to watch on tv.  even the weather sucked.

dark grey clouds taunted from the skies above them as they rolled throughout the sky, yet there was no rain in sight.

"is it gonna rain?" she asked, looking over her shoulder and out the window.

"i think its supposed to later," he said without looking up from his phone. y/n sighed.

a couple minutes of silence passed before he ran his hand through his hair and stood up. he wore an army green sweatshirt and plaid pajama pants.

"emily wants me to go over there for a little."

y/n looked up at her roommate and nodded.

he left the living room area and headed for his bedroom, closing the door behind him.

he came back out moments later, wearing dark blue jeans instead of the pajama pants. he took his keys off the island in the kitchen.

"how long do you think you'll be?"

"not long," he said quickly.  "if i get home late i'll try not to wake you up."

"thanks," she said flatly.

"later."  he closed the door behind him.

y/n sighed and turn the tv back on, only just to continue looking down at her phone.  she just needed the background noise.

y/n took a box of frozen pizzas out of the freezer  and placed a mini pie on a plate. she slid the plate into the oven and set the timer.

she tapped the counter while she waited.

when it was done, she brought the plate with her to the couch, where she had been all day.  she continued to listen to the sounds of the tv while scrolling through twitter.

after finishing her food,  she slumped down, so that she was laying on her back on the couch, staring blankly at the ceiling.

she felt so un-productive today. and gross, too.

she left the tv on and brought herself to the bathroom, turning on the shower. she removed the pajamas she'd been wearing since yesterday and felt to see if the temperature of the water was hot enough.

she rung out her damp hair with a towel and threw on pajamas similar to the ones worn all day today

it was almost 11:30.  there was nothing else left to keep her awake.

she made sure the light in the kitchen was on and the tv was off.

she closed the bedroom door and climbed under the covers, turning the lamp that sat on her nightstand off.

as she began to dose off she heard the slight tapping of raindrops on the window.
