Chapter 5 The curse

We got to my hometown and crashed into the dock stopping the ship.  I put down the walking bored to get off the ship. I grabbed josh's hand and pulled him as I ran to my house. We got to my house and stopped. At the door. I knocked on the door and didn't stop until my mom opened the door.

" Oh look who's here, deer." Said mom. Not sounding surprised.

" Mom, there's no time I have an outsider and I need to get him inside the house please." I said.

Dad who was bigger than mom blocking up the whole door way. We had to make the whole house bigger so he can git around the house.  He Growled, that's how he talks.

" No dad he's not my boyfriend." I said.

" Growl." Said dad

" Dad, He will not betray us, he's my best friend." I said.

" Growl." Said dad.

" What... What about me." I said.

" Growl." Said dad.

" Your dad's right you left in such a hurry that we didn't even get the chance to get you employees to work for you. You know what we say." Said mom.

" A pirate with a good crew has a better chance of their boat not sinking." Me,mom and dad said.

" But seriously mom. Look at my arm. It is covered in dragon scales." I said. Mom gave a concerned look at dad then back at me. Honey you and your friend can come inside and we need to talk. They let us in. And Josh closed the door behind him. We got to the living room and me and Josh sat down on the two person couch wile my dad and mom sat down on their chairs that looked alot like thrones. But dad and mom could sit back In there chairs. Dads was bigger than mom's. Hers had a crocheted green blanket on the back of it. When we sat down it was silent for a few minutes. Then mom finally spoke.

" Karen, We don't want you to hate us for this. But you know that story we told you when we told you you where adopted. Well that was partly true. Your father and I where part of the people that killed your kind. We where icebreakers. I was a pirate and your dad was an outcast giant. Because he was smaller than the rest." Said mom holding dad's hand. And looked into his eyes. I cleared my throat by coughing loudly. Mom looked back at me and said.

"  Anyways. We where a next ship full of icebreakers ready to fight the next war. We saw you floating in the water on your back. If it wasn't for your wings and tail you wouldn't have survived. Yes you are supposed to have a tail and dragon scales. We found you like that. How people can tell you are a angel elf if you have a tail and dragon wings. When we first saw you. Your dad picked you out of the water. And as soon as we picked you up you started to cry. Your Dad held you In his arms. You stopped and fell asleep.

" Growl." Said dad.

" she was so soft. Like a soft kitten." Said mom

"Anyways back to the story. That's when we got in trouble by the head captain of the ship.

" What is going on here!." Shouted the captain.

" Is that a baby. No, that's the princess of the angel elf clan. She's supposed to be gone along with her father and mother." Said the captain.

" She's a baby." Said mom.

" She's a threat." Said the captain.

" Get her off...off my ship." Shouted the captain stomping his foot with anger. Dad with one hand  picked up the captain  and kicked him far away from us. And that's how we became captains of the pirates." Said mom.

" You see you were supposed to have a tail and dragon scales." Said mom.

" But why was I taking medicine to make them disappear?." I said.

" We had no other help to get rid of your fire breathing temporarily. So we had to ask a witch. So you can better control your fire breathing."Said mom.

" And my biological dad. I know he pushed mom off to save us but I'm not sure if my biological dad somehow got away." I said.

" He got away but the icebreakers got his horn on the end of his wing. But we don't know where he is." Said mom. There was silence for a minute.

" Karen?. " Said josh.

" I..I..I.." I said. I said nothing else and got up. And walked out of the house.

" Karen… Karen come back, come on." Said josh following behind me. I got to the dock and noticed are boat sank. 

" Grate." I said. Walking away from the broken boat. I sat at the side of the dock. Where it wasn't broke. Josh walked up next to me and sat down next to me.

" You ok." Said josh.

" I'm not the one you should be asking that. Why are you even here? You could have just asked someone to sail you home. We have one of those here." I said.

" And leave you, your adventures are so awesome. I never want to go back home." Said josh.

" But I'm keeping you here. I don't want to force you to say. Go home. You have a job to do. To be a prince." I said Pushing him away. Looking away from him. And getting up. I walked away one step. And crossed my arms.

" If you truly wanted me to leave. Why don't you look at me and say it to my face." Said josh. I turned around and saw him standing up.

" How am I supposed to leave you when you look so sad." Said Josh coming to me and wiping the tear from my cheek. I hugged him and cried on his shoulder. When we got back to the house. I grabbed Josh's hand and we walked in inside. When I opened the door.

" Aww you guys look so adorable." Said mom as she came in the living room.

" What." I said pulling my hand out of his grip shaking my hand. We both blushed. Looking at each other then looking away in a split second.

" Growl." Said dad holding up a plate of a huge grilled and seasoned fish. Dad had pink oven mitts on holding the pan.

" Dinner time." Said mom in a happy mood.
