In Denial (Shizaya)

The Monster and the Flea

Late one afternoon Shizuo and Tom were walking through the streets of Ikebukuro.

' I heard there's an increase in murders in Ikebukuro' Tom says.

' Probably do to with those shitty colour gangs again ' Shizuo responds.

Out of the blue came the giggling of a certain information broker not far away. ' Hold on minute '

' Things are about to get ugly ' Tom sighs.

' IZAAYAAA-KUUUUN ' Shizuo shouts at the top of his lungs to get the informant's attention.

Izaya turns around with a huge smirk on his face,

' There you are Shizu-chan! Things have been boring lately, so I came looking for you. ' And with that he ran off seeking the thrill of a chase.

' Come back here you damn flea! '

Shizuo pulls out the nearest stop sign and starts running towards the person he hated most.

' Catch me if you can Shizu-chan! '

' Here they go again. ' Shinra remarks as the two pass by him.

Climbing their way up the outer staircase of a building, Shizuo and Izaya soon reached the top.

' Got you cornered now, flea! '

' We'll see about that. ' Izaya smirks shrugging through his fur-trimmed jacket.

' I really feel like this is the moment where I finally get to kill you! '

' Oh really? Well let's see who gets to make it out this situation unharmed. '

Shizuo blindly chased Izaya to the edge of the building and swang the out of shape road sign at Izaya. He went to dodge the attack but instead ended up falling over the edge of the building onto the hard concrete ground.

Shizuo flinched as he heard bones cracking as Izaya reached the bottom. Why? He had heard dozens of cracking bones before, all of which were inflicted by himself. But this one was different. Something about it made his spine singe with cold. It haunted him.

As Shizuo looked down he saw Izaya sprawled out across the concrete with limbs twisted in unnatural angles and blood pooling out from his head.

'What have I done?' Shizuo thought to himself.

Why? Why was he thinking this all of a sudden? He should be happy of having finally gotten rid of his worst enemy. But instead all there was was a sick feeling in his gut that he had never felt before.

He soon heard an ambulance's siren as the paramedics pulled up and took Izaya away.
