Chapter 119:Step On The Brake!

PERSEUS' POV

I don't know what this feeling is.. the feeling of devastation or wrath… it's all mixing inside of me.

"Perseus… please don't say that.. I have my reasons.. I'm s-sorry.. I'm sorry..." she murmured and other words are completely inaudible kasi pahina ng pahina ang bawat bigkas nya.

For once in my life, I witnessed guilt written all over Andromeda's face. Her eyes are stucked on the floor. She can't even look at me.

"I should've say this earlier, s-saka hindi naman dapat 'to ngayon.. I never thought you'll caught me up in this kind of situation.. pero ayoko lang kasi na mabigla k--" muli ay pinutol ni Hui ang pagsasalita nya.

"Lluvia… calm down. Stop it before you could've said something that--" he said.

"I shouldn't know? Wow. You still have things hiding from me? Andromeda? You know I've been a fool for a long time, hindi ko alam na you're up with this game din pala? " pagputol ko naman sa pagputol ni Hui. "I thought I'm living in your world freely? Hanggang kailan pa  ba ako mamanipulahin?" 

"Perseus, it's n-not that--" Andromeda said, frustratingly switching her sight onto different things.

She's cut between her own words as I start to approach her. I cupped her face and tried to make her turn to me.

"Andromeda… please look at me.." nanghihina kong sabi. 

She looked at me. Makikita ang pamumuo ng luha sa mga mata. It's as if she wants to say so many things but she just can't put it into words.

"I love you…" I whisper as I hug her. 

Ramdam ko ang paninigas ng braso nya. She didn't hug back. Doesn't say a word. Basta nya lang inalis ang mga braso ko then looks at me sadly.

Shit… I might cry.

Naramdaman ko bigla ang paghawak sa balikat ko na mula sa likod. Lumingon ako. It's Hui.

Bagsak balikat. I questioned, "Hmm?"

"Aren't you gonna punch me in the face or something-?" he said.

"Nah. She had fun with you, I guess. I can see that watching you two today. I can't punch a guy that made my girl happy. I think.. That's actually the thing.. I'm not good at, recently.. I guess.." I answered. Calming my nerves.

Nag-unat-unat muna ako. I checked my phone then once again took a glance at Andromeda which is still having those downcast eyes.

"She's looking tired. Siguro mas magandang pagusapan na lang uli natin 'to sa ibang araw. I feel exhausted, too." sabi ko naman, "C'mon, Andromeda."

Naglakad ako pabalik sa may kotse saka binuksan ang pinto nito, expecting that she'll follow but I hear no footsteps so I turned once again.

She's just looking at me. Not moving a muscle or showing any sign that she'll go with me.

"I'll take you home." I said.

"P-perseus… I've been planning to stay here muna… actually… I'm sorry, I think I can't talk to you for a while." she answered.

Bagsak balikat level 2. "Ohh, I see.."

Well, I kinda anticipated that. Hindi ko akalaing sa lahat pa ng bagay, dito pa pala ako matatalo.

Tiningnan ko naman si Hui, he looked back so I took the moment to say this, "If this is the way you want to play, then I'll show you how it's done"

I was about to get in my car -- but before that light flashes through my eyes. Another car has arrived.

Bumaba roon si Jane. She looks a little shocked from what she's seeing right now.

"Woah.. didn't know you'd actually be here." she said, trying to wipe off that awkward atmosphere.

A silence passed then she talk again, "Tinext kasi ako ni Tita Esme kasi hindi ka pa daw nakakauwi. She sounds so worried about you. Galing na ako sa house ni Lluvia then I decided to come here, thinking that I could use some help from Hui. Didn't actually expect that I would see you here and… Lluvia."

"Me neither…" I said, then lets out a fake subtle smile.

Nilingon ko muli si Andromeda, we made eye contact pero kaagad nya ring binalik ang paningin sa may baba.

"Don't worry Jane. I'll contact Mom while I'm on my way. Pwede ka na ding umuwi. Thank you." I spoke as I got into my car.

Inistart ko na ang engine. Walang lingunan kong pinatakbo ang sasakyan at tuluyan ko na ngang iniwan sila doon. 

I dialed Mom's number and after a few rings ay sinagot na nya.

"Perseus? Where have you been?!" she blurted out from the other line.

"Kina Hui." I answered.

"What? Akala ko tinawagan ka ni Greg? I was worried na baka naginuman pala kayo don eh ikaw pa naman ang nagdadrive ng kotse mo." she said.

"Nah, I'm okay. Sana nga 'dun lang talaga ako nanggaling eh." Damn, road's getting blurry. Akala ko mapipigilan ko pa 'to a. Saglit ko munang tinigil sa may tabi ang sasakyan to give time to compose myself again. "Yeah, how I wish…"

"Perseus? You still there?" binalik ko muli ang phone sa may tapat ng tenga ko then answered, "Yup. Kailangan mo na ba agad ako dyan?"

"Actually, kanina pa dapat but the wedding planner went home na. He said that he can't wait for you and it's my fault because I forgot to say it to you. They'll come back naman next time and I'll make sure that Jane is also here na kapag nakipagusap kayo." she explained.

I faked a laugh, trying to wipe off the piled sadness that has been caused on this day, "O-oo nga pala.. 'yun pa.. wedding.. yeah.."

"You sound tired, son. I'll discuss the other details tomorrow, 'kay? Drive safely, bye!" she said then ended the call.

I bit my lip. Shit. Ang hirap pigilan ng bugso ng damdamin haha. I sobbed myself leaning onto the steering wheel. 

Damn, what did I do to deserve this?

I unlocked my phone then continues to message Greg;

Dude, I think I might want some beer...
