"Hello? Hello, can you hear me?"

Everything was dark. You felt lost. You don't know why you were in this dark void. It was all black, wherever you tried to go. You felt so tiny. So tiny against nothingness. But this dull voice was still disturbing you. Wait, a voice? You were so blinded by the dark you couldn't focus on this unfamiliar, yet comforting, voice. You wanted to reach her. And you did. Her voice became louder and clearer while you could see light surrounding you.

"Oh my god, she's waking up! Quick get a bottle of water for her!"

You opened you eyes, and for a moment everything was blinding white. Luckily, you eyes adjusted to see a clear blue sky with green leaves dancing a few meters above you. You tilted your head left to see a tree right next to you. Then, a hand came up to caress your cheek. You flinched and turned to see the stranger. Holy shit. She was absolutely divine. Her blonde, slightly curled, hair was hanging down, almost touching your face. It was so soft. You wondered what conditioner she used. You felt yourself relax into her touch. This woman was a stranger, but somehow you felt like you've known her your entire life.

"Hello? You can hear me right?"
You jumped. Oh, she was talking to you? Oops, you must've dozed off while staring at her hair.
You opened your mouth to answer, but your voice was barely hearable. You tried again. "Yes, i can hear you. Sorry."
She sighed in relief. "Oh good. I was worried you were deaf for a second," she said before checking your body for any bruises. You felt your ears and face warm up. When she touched you, just even the slightest, your body would react and feel all tingly. That was until you felt a striking pain by the back of your head. You inhaled sharply and sat up hastily. Big mistake. You became dizzy and almost fell back to the hard ground before the woman's hands caught you. She placed you gently down again before she spoke.

"Are you okay?" You shook your head. No. You were not okay, and you had no shame in admitting that. "My head— It hurts like hell," you mumbled in response with gritted teeth. She gazed at you, worried. You wanted to stand up so she could stop worrying about you, but you knew you couldn't. The blonde heaved herself up and walked to your feet. Before you could process what she was doing she was already lifting your legs up in the air. What the fuck? "For better blood flow," she said with a smile as she saw your confused expression. Ohhhh dear.. This was totally not making you blush again. God, making you blush was too easy.
"U-Oh," you managed to respond, not able to keep eye-contact.

"Here's the water Miss Cordelia!"
You looked at another, younger, woman who hurried over to you. She had straight darkblonde hair with a fashionable black hat. Before you realized it she was on her knees next to you, handing you a bottle of water. You carefully accepted it.
"Are you feeling any better now?" The woman by your feet spoke as you finished. Miss Cordelia, you assumed from what the girl said before. "Yes, thank you so much. I'm-" you stopped. You were about to say your name but quickly realized... You don't know your name. "...I'm truly grateful for your care," You said, playing it off carefully. "Though i must ask... Where exactly am i?" You slowly sat up, learning from your past mistake, and gazed around.

On your right, besides the girl with the hat, was a tall fence. Further away behind the fence, you could see a large white house. No, a mansion. Is that the white house? No, that wasn't the white house you idiot.
"New Orleans, Miss Robichaux's Acedemy," Cordelia answered. You frowned. "What? How did i get here.. Why am i here?" you mumbled, feeling a blob of anxiety transforming inside your stomach. Your heart rate quickened, your mouth became dry, you were sweating, and you breathed rapidly.
"Hey hey hey.! It's okay, you're safe," you could hear Cordelia say. But you wouldn't stop to look at her. You're not safe! You're lost, just like in the dark void! You don't belong here. You're not supposed to be here. You don't remember how you came here. You don't remember why you're here. You don't-

"Look at me."

Her hand grasped your jawline and forced you to meet her eyes. Your heart dropped, but not in a bad way. You stared at her darkbrown, determined eyes. Wow. She was strong. You could feel it by the way she held you. "Calm down. It's okay. Deep breaths with me okay?" You simply nodded. She inhaled deeply and paused, waiting for you to imitate what she was doing. You did as you were told and exhaled after her. The two of you repeated the same steps for a moment, not breaking eye-contact in the process. You almost forgot about the other girl until she spoke up. "Should we take her inside?" Cordelia turned to look at her and nodded. She stood up on her feet and gave you a helping hand to hold on.
