Cass, Avril and you head to the greenhouse. You are carrying mattresses, Avril is holding bed sheets while Cass is holding snacks and soda. The sun was beginning to set, and the three of you had decided to have a sleepover together in the greenhouse. Avril was the one insisting, because she didn't want you to feel alone the first night. Knowing Avril had already planned things in her head, you had no other choice but to accept it. She also insisted in Cass coming aswell.
When everything was ready you all sat on the floor in silence.
"Now what?" you asked, glancing between Avril and Cass.
"Nowwww we begin a game. Truth or dare!" Avril said.
"Ugh, really? Aren't we like too old for that?" groaned Cass.
Avril furrowed her brows and pouted.
"I think it's a great idea! Avril why don't you start?" you quickly chimed in before they would begin arguing again. She nodded excitedly and paused for a moment, thinking.
"Cass, truth or dare?"
"Dare," she answered with a bold tone.
"I dare you to revive my friend.." Avril said, and picked something up from her pocket. She withdrew her hand and held her palm out open for you to see. It was a dead bee.
"I tried, but my powers are limited. I also feel too ashamed to ask anyone else," Avril continued sadly.
Cass stared at the bee for a moment before taking the winged creature in her hands. You watched in awe. You figured they had powers, but reviving?! This was just too awesome. You watched Cass cup her hands together with your mouth slightly hanging. She closed her eyes and blew on her hands. Not long after that she opened her hands flat. The bee was awake and shortly flew around the greenhouse like nothing happened. You couldn't do anything but stare. How?! Cass caught your staring and smirked.
"Yes thank you so much! Thank you thank you thank you!" Avril exclaimed, bouncing of happiness. But as you turned to Cass you saw how dizzy she looked. She doesn't look too good, you thought.
"Cass are you okay?" you asked her.
It took a moment for her to reply. She was holding her head with one hand, as if steadying herself.
"Yeah, i'm fine," she muttered. "Just a little dizzy that's all."
You frowned. Magic really impacts ones energy, huh?
"Don't worry Sandy. It's a common thing to feel drained or dizzy when you perform Vitalum Vitalis."That voice.
You whipped your head around to see Cordelia leaning on the doorway. How long had she been standing there? You felt buttflies flutter in your stomach. Just the sight of her was apparently too much for your body to handle. You smiled nervously at her and she chuckled, approaching the three of you.
"I came to water the plants. I hope you won't mind it in the future," she said while kneeling down to Cass. She wasn't looking at you but you assumed she was still talking to you.
"I um— No of course not. I like your company so far anyway," you said, staring at Cordelia who gently reassured Cass that she could rest. She looked at you and nodded, smiling slightly. She turned her head to watch Avril, who followed her bee-friend around the greenhouse. Cordelia and you remained silent for a moment.
"She reminds me so much of Misty.." she murmured.
You raised your brows, curious. Who's Misty? She looked back at you.
"Misty Day. She was a close friend of mine. Before i became supreme she, along with Zoe Queenie and Madison, performed The Seven Wonders to see who could be the next supreme. It all went well for her until she had to enter hell. She's still stuck there."
Questions were storming into your mind. The Seven Wonders? Before Cordelia became supreme? She entered hell?! And the fact that she's still stuck there??
She sighed and shook her head.
"God, why am i telling you this?" she chuckled, but you knew it wasn't a lighthearted chuckle.
"Her hair was similar to yours, you know? But her hair was much longer and frizzier."
"Oh..."
There was another silence lingering between you two. You wanted to hug her so bad. You wanted to comfort her. So you did. You scooched closer to her and gave her a big hug. You felt Cordelia freeze for a moment, but quickly embraced the hug. She leaned her head slightly on yours while you smelled her sweet scent. Her hair smelled so good. But the moment was unfortunately quickly over and she stood up to water the plants.Avril had calmed down a bit and seated herself infront of you when the supreme left the greenhouse. Cass also sat up and let out a loud sigh.
"Let's sleep," she'd murmur.
Avril and you nodded. Cass was too tired to do anything and it felt wrong to continue the game without her. You all went to your mattresses on the floor. Avril and you brought books to read before sleeping. Avril opened her book and began to read out loud.
"Adrian hunched closer. His lip was almost touching Ariana's. Their breaths were shallow with tension. He slowly grabbed her neck and tilted his head to the side-"
"Shut up!! People are trying to sleep," Cass growled.
Avril jumped, her eyes wide. You only chuckled at her reaction.
"Sorry..." She murmured."Do you always read out loud?" you whispered, raising a brow.
She nodded, too afraid to speak again. You smiled and looked down to read your own fantasy book. It was about an elf and a gremlin trying to live up to a prophecy. You enjoyed it, but didn't plan on reading the next books.
After a while you found yourself drifting off to sleep, the book on your stomach.Cordelia opened the door slightly, her gaze lingering on you and your friends. She wanted to make sure you were asleep and okay. By the way you were sleeping though, with your mouth open like that, she figured you slept well. She grinned as she closed the door again.
