The Start of the Quest

Percy's POV

"I am not letting you go without me ." I said.

"Percy we have been over this. You are coming," Annabeth said, rolling her eyes.

"I know but the dream you told me about last night didn't have me in it." I complained.

She blinked. "I know." She said quietly. 

"What does Lyssa look like?" I asked. 

"According to the legands, she has Auburn colored hair, pale skin so light it is almost white. She has no eyebrows and has glowing red eyes."

"Sounds scary," I said.

"She is."

I rubbed my tounge against the inside of my cheek.

Annabeth sighed. "Why don't we watch a movie. How bout a documentary."

I nodded. "As long as it's about the ocean."

She nodded. We sat down on the couch and turned on the documentary. I laughed at what the fish was saying. It was not PG!!

" What the f*ck. Why is this f*cking camra in my stupid face. Back off b*ch." the fish said.

I cracked up. 

Annabeth rolled her eyes at me. "What's the fish saying?" She asked.

I stopped laughing. "If I say those words mommy would take away my blue candies."

Annabeth threw back her head and laughed.

I pressed my fore head against hers. "Please be careful." I told her.

"You to." She said, closing the gap between us.

"Were dri dri driving in a-" I started.

"Car! Destenation death-" Jason said.

"Bar! Pass the mic right over to Leo! " I said.

"We forgot Leo."

"But we can't turn back cause we have gone to fareo!"

"We have to turn back though. We can't leave him. It was a good rhyme  though!"

Jason and I started to crack up.

Annabeth and Piper glanced at each other. 

Suddenly I heard something land on the roof of the car. Annabeth screeched to a stop. She screeched the car around into circles and tried to throw it off. Piper gripped her dagger tightly.

After we were sure it was of, Annabeth stopped whirling the steering wheel around. She took her hands of the steering wheel and looked back at Jason and I.

"Y'all ok?" She asked.

I looked down. Ten fingers. Two arms. Two legs. I wiggled my toes. Ten toes.

"Yep all good." I said. 

After a bit, Annabeth and I switched places. I drived and she took a nap in the passenger seat. I watched her chest rise and fall. She looked so cute and peaceful when she slept. 

After a bit I stopped at some random parking lot so I could get some rest. I shuffled around a bit in my seat, and ended up honking the horn. Annabeth woke up but Jason and Piper didn't. 

"Sorry I didn't mean to wake you up." I said.

"It's okay." She yawned and stretched her arms. she looked at me and smiled. 

I glanced at her shirt. I grinned.

"Is that my sweatshirt?" I asked her, grinning.

It was dark but I could still see her blushing from the moonlight. "Maybe." 

"Well you look better in it then I do." I joked.

She laughed.

Her hand grabbed mine. 

She leaned back in her chair.

"You okay?" I asked. 

She sighed. " Yeah I just wish we could have a normal day." She said.

"I know me too." I thought about our future, and collage at New Rome. I could tell she was thinking the same thing. I squeezed her hand.

"Whatever happens though, know that I will always be by your side." I said.

She looked at me, eyes watery. " But what if you won't be? What if the reason you weren't in my dream was because something happened to you." The tears were flooding down her cheeks by now. I couldn't stand to see her cry. The next time I ever want to see her cry is at our wedding.

I kissed the top of her head. "That won't happen because I would never do that to you. After all I am the most powerful demigod right?" I winked at her. She chuckled.

I held her close. We stayed like this for a while. After a bit she turned in my arms. 

"You still awake?" She whispered.

I nodded. 

"Good I can't fall asleep." Annabeth sat up.

"Me neither." I sighed.

She turned her head to look at me. "why does this remind me of-"

"The zoo truck." we both said. We chuckled.

"Jinks" I whispered.

"I loved that day because that was the day I learned I liked you."

I thought about that for a moment. "When did you start loving me?" I asked her.

"Probably when you saved me and Artimiss." She leaned towards me. " And I haven't stopped since." 

We both closed the gap at the same time. I wraped my arms around her waist and she hung her arms around my shoulders. We both pulled away, blushing to the sound of a phone taking a picture. We turned to she a smiling Piper, and a grinning Jason with a phone in his hands.

"So cute!" Jason gushed.

"How long exactly have you guys been up?" Annabeth asked.

"Long enough to know that Annabeth has loved Percy for three years!" Piper grinned. 

Jason got in the drivers seat and Annabeth and I cuddled up in the back. She fell asleep almost right away. I watched her for a while, and my eyelids slowly started to drop. 

Tomarrow we started the quest and I wanted to fall asleep with Annabeth laying against me like we did in the stables. Well you know minus coach Henge.
