"I love you!" Andres proclaimed, kissing Nati.
"I love you too!" Nati said, kissing him back.
Maxi and Ludmilla watched jealously from behind a tree. Maxi, jealous that it wasn't him. Ludmilla, jealous that her less popular friend had a boyfriend and she didn't. Then they noticed each other.
"What are you doing?" They asked in unison.
"Nothing!" They replied together.
They both sighed. Neither of them was happy. Neither of them would get what they wanted. Neither could be with the one they loved. But Ludmilla was better than that. If she loved Leon he would love her back. All she had to do was make him. She marched into the singing classroom where she saw Violetta standing talking to Leon.
"Hi, Violetta, you're new right?" Leon asked her.
"Yeah. I just moved here from Spain." She answered.
"That's cool!" He said.
"Thanks." She replied.
"You're beautiful you know."
"Oh." Was all she could say. How was she supposed to respond? Her father hardly allowed her to talk to boys. She barely had met any. Besides, before she could say anything else Ludmilla jumped in between them.
"Hello, Lion." She said, angrily, even though all she wanted to do around him was cry. "I see you're very 'interested' in the new girl."
"Yes Ludmilla and if you don't mind, I would like you to leave."
"Wow. So you really don't care about me huh? And you really never did?" Her eyes were welling up as she spoke.
"Ludmilla. I'm sorry about how I handled things but this is not the time nor place to talk about this. I'm sorry for how I must have hurt you."
So now he had the nerve to act nice? She wasn't going to stand for that. "Go die Leon." She said angrily.
"Omigod!" Violetta said, "I can't believe she just said that she's so rude!"
"No." Leon said, "it's my fault. I really hurt her before, and, I think it left her more rude then usual. As a defense mechanism. She's not used to not getting what she wants."
"Well that's no excuse for her to treat you like that Leon." Violetta said.
"You're right." He said, "but it's not like it will get into her head."
"Oh well, I'm sorry she said that." Violetta said.
"Well you didn't have anything to do with it so you don't have to be sorry." He said.
"I know but, I am." She said, and with that, she kissed him on the cheek goodbye and left. He wondered how someone as horrible as him, could get the attention of someone as pure as her. He was definitely lucky.
