"Get up!" A loud voice yelled in my room.

"Gah!" I yelled and fell out of my bed.

I looked up and saw my mother there. She had dark bags under her eyes and her hair was disheveled. She wore a black nightgown and a blue silk robe. I looked to her in fear seeing the hate in her eyes. She raise her foot and I automatically raised my arms defensively as the blow came. She kicked me over and over again until I was crying loudly. It was so much to take but I took it.

I had concluded a long time ago this was the fate that I was destined too until something came to change it somehow. I just stayed there and waited until the blows stopped and after ten minutes they finally did. My mother left and I stayed on the ground for a little bit until the aching in my ribs, face, legs, and back dulled some.

I used the bed post for support as I tried to get up but I collapsed onto my knees. Something caught me and I looked to see it was Jeff.

I threw his arms from off me and tried to get up again, this time succeeding. I huffed and clutched my aching ribs. I slowly moved to my bathroom and sat on the toilet as I grabbed some toilet paper for my bloody nose. I got gauze and wrapped the larger cuts on my stomach from my mother's nails slicking through my clothes and skin.

I sighed as I finished and I looked to the door to see Jeff watching me. I glared at him then tried to get up. I clutched my aching ribs and hobbled into my room limping from my aching leg. Jeff just watched me as I moved not attempting to help again.

"If only you would have killed me..." I mumbled sitting on my bed.

    "What?" He asked.

"Why didn't you kill me last night? You had the perfect opportunity!" I almost yelled.

"I don't know you insolent pest!" He yelled back.

I looked at the ground and sighed. This wasn't me. I never tried to even harm myself before and now I'm wishing I was dead because of one encounter. I sighed.

    "Sorry..." I whispered.

I grabbed my clothes for the day, my regular jacket, hat and sneakers, then a pair of red skinny jeans, black socks, and a solid red tank top. I then hobbled back to the bathroom to change. When I came out Jeff was no longer there and my window was closed. I sighed and headed down stairs to make breakfast.

I wasn't about to let my mother relish my pain which is exactly what she does when she hurts me. I walked down the steps finally able to walk correctly as the pain dulled more to just a small and throbbing pain.

I made my mother a big breakfast and just grabbed a peach then headed back up to my room. I grabbed my mp3 and pack then opened my window. I threw out my home made ladder and climbed down it onto the porch roof. Hey, I wasn't about to break my legs. I was on the third floor and that was a story down so yeah.

Once down I got out my sketch book and propped up the umbrella I always had there to shade myself. I started drawing. I drew a tree with a few in the background but this tree, there was something behind it. It was in the dream I had. Jeff was in front of the tree and the thing was behind the tree but was as tall as it.

I couldnt' figure it out. I had never seen it before and it was blurry in my dream so it was only blurs in the picture. I sighed and looked up. I judged it was around 7 a.m. so I got up and put on my pack after I put my sketch pad back and jumped down into a bush where I hid a few plush pillows just for this.

I then went and started walking around the house glancing back at my backyard then not looking back as I headed to school. I placed my headphones on my ears and listened to that as I walked sighing when a car slowed down to drive beside me. I put my headphones around my neck and looked over to it bored.
