Y/N's P.O.V.

I struggled to get the clasps shut on my heels, the straps hugging my ankles just a little too tight. I sighed with relief after a satisfying 'snap' sounded as I managed to clip the buckle. I stood up and walked towards the mirror, a doubtful feeling settled in my bones, nervousness evident from my chewed lips and fingernails.

I skimmed past those features as I analysed myself in the mirror, checking there was no loose hairs stuck to my dress.

There was a knock on the door as mum peeped her heads round it, not missing the way her eyes scanned me up and down and raised her eyebrows in surprise, "Wow, I didn't think you were going out on a date when you said you were meeting up with YoonGi's friend. Are you sure this is a good idea, Y/N?"

"It's not like that, Ma. We don't exactly... see eye to eye."

"Ah..." she sounded in understanding, but confusion still read on her face as she brought her thumb under her chin.

"He said he wanted to meet at a restaurant to talk to me about something, I have no idea what it's about, but he said it was very important," I explained.

"Are you sure he doesn't like you and doesn't just want to confess something? It all sounds awfully... elaborate."

"No, Ma, I's definitely not that. Believe me. He just said to make sure I dress up nice," I walked back to my bed to pick up my bag and phone, checking the time, "anyways, I have to get going, he should be here soon."

"I can drop you off at the restaurant instead, if you want, honey?" She offered.

"No, it alright, I know him well enough."

"Alright, but ring me if you need anything."

I kissed her cheek and gave her a hug before pulling back. Mum kept a tight hold on my hand, slipping some money into my bag and reminding me to "always split the bill, unless they're a dickhead."

I smirked at her then headed down the stairs to the front door and waited outside the front of my house. I opened my phone again, rolling my eyes at the time, which was a few minutes later than Jungkook had told me specifically to be ready for or else. Hypocrite.

A slight breeze nipped at my bare arms, making me rub them in comfort just as a sleek black car pulled up in front of me. The tires sounded smooth on the loose pebbles. I watched as the window wound down and the ever-handsome SeokJin leant out the window, resting his arm on the frame as he sat looking yummy in a white button-up shirt.

My brows furrowed upon realising this was the wrong pretty boy.

Sensing this, Jin leant back, revealing a scowling Jungkook – arms folded the way a toddler would in the middle of throwing a tantrum.

"He's still learning how to drive and thought he could sneak off in my car," Jin explained, "The only way he was going in this was if he was sitting in the passenger seat. Isn't that right KooKoo~"

JungKook whipped his face away from the teasing older male, crossing his arms so tight his muscles were visible through his blazer.

The scene was too amusing not to laugh at, especially when seeing an embarrassed blush dust on JungKook's face as Jin tickled his chin as if he were petting a dog.

"We're going to be late to our reservation If you don't get in the fucking car," Kook grumbled at me.

The light-heartedness I was feeling slipped away, suddenly remembering that these familiar interactions weren't so familiar anymore. I swallowed nervously and looked down as I clambered into the backseat. I didn't miss it when JungKook adjusted his seat further back to give me less leg-space.
