Chapter 3: Twenty Seconds
George's POV
George went home immediately after the conversation died down, well when everyone had left besides Sap and Dream.Yes, the two lovebirds who couldn't stand more than a millimeter away from one another.
Quackity had homework due. Due two weeks ago and he's now deciding to do it.
Nothing new.
Tommy just left without reasoning but George saw him head over to Tubbo who sat on the bleachers for awhile after school.
And Karl just felt like leaving.
He didn't mind staying, it was just the constant glares from the captain and the gazes coming from across the field.
Funny how a group of girls in skirts became so fascinated over him in the matter of seconds by throwing a damn football. But either way, gaining attention wasn't his ideal style.
Preferring much more of the academic stuff that people didn't care much for; reading, studying if he felt like it which he never honestly did, coding, or sometimes helping out his friends with work but that only lead him to doing the entire thing by himself.
Don't get him wrong, it sucked. But what else was there to do when you didn't have much of a social life when you've been booked with so much work over the last two year.
At least his load finally lessened this year, which was the main reason for trying out for the football team.
Sapnap's POV
"What's with the bitch expression all practice?"Dream turned around to face his lover, raising an eyebrow while acting confused. "What do you mean?"
"Don't play the 'What do you mean,' card Dream. You gave George the death stare the entire time he was here. Not to mention you didn't say anything when he spoke or you purposely excluded him." Sapnap crossed his arms while having a cocky expression written all along his face. "It better not be about him becoming captain, is it? Because if so, I'm not sure ignoring him and showing the team that will help your case."
The dark haired brunet knew being the captain was Dreams biggest accomplishment in life, in forever if not his only real big thing.
What would happen to him if his long life dream was just taken from him, especially by someone who didn't even properly try out.
He just king of, joined.
"Okay, yeah, that might've played a huge part in that but it's nothing like your crush the entire freshmen year showing off right in front of you."
Totally unexpected.
Totally uncalled for. "What the hell is that supposed to mean Dream? I'm fucking dating you, I'm not just going to leave you for him just because we had some conversations. I- I'm not just going to stand there and look snazzy as hell as the rest of the team gets to know him and joke around." Sapnap scoffed at the tall blond standing in front of him.
They're were not about to go at it at the schools football field.
"Yeah sure. You talked about him the entire year, drooling over him every second. I should totally not worrying about the feel- "
Sapnap saw his eyes widen at the sudden grip onto the front of his football jersey, being pulled down as he connected his lips to Dream.
Twenty seconds.
That's about as long as it lasted before Sapnap pulled away and fixed the bandana on his forehead. "God, will you shut up now. You're mine and nothing about George will change that."
Dream nodded his head his response.
How nodding can be a form of acknowledgment but can't it also mean that one doesn't have to agree, that one can simply still worry or get curious?

George's POV
Locking his car and opening the front door to his apartment, he immediately fell onto the couch. No, the day wasn't stressful but more surprising.
He was mainly in shock, but a good one.
He made the team.
That one sentence coming back, and back again the entire drive home. It just felt so surreal, so untrue yet it wasn't.
His first practice with everyone was tomorrow after school, just causing a little more nerves to settle in before he goes to sleep.
But even with the thoughts in his head and his fidgety hands, the brunet managed to fall asleep on the couch in the small living area.
It only took him twenty seconds to go from tired to fast asleep, how the hell does someone manage that other than George? Don't know.
—
Again.
George woke up to the sound of his alarm.
Tuesday.
George mentally rolled his eyes before making his way out of the bed and into the shower.
His fit? Just a plain black shirt with a light weighted blue jacket on top and pair of normal, cuffed, blue jeans.
A part of him couldn't wait til school ended to go on the field, be with the team.
He doesn't really know his position on the team yet, but he knew all of them so he'll be fine. Right?
George locked his front door while struggling to slipping on his vans, heading to the car and leaving for a school.
—
How far off he was.
Sitting on the bench, tossing water to Tommy constantly to keep him from fainting from the heat.
He was sitting on the bench while everyone else practiced.
And it only took Dream less than twenty seconds to to decide what George would be doing.
