Chapter Ten: Friends

Yeah...Sapnap really should've listened to that last group talk.

That's about all that can be said as he was in the wrong positions, going against the wrong teammate, and not having his mindset correct during practice.

Sapnap's POV
"Dude what the hell is up with you today?" Sapnap had taken off his helmet which lead to Dream immediately running up beside him and slapping the back of his head. Unfortunate to say the least but was well deserved in anyone's opinion, including Sap himself.

The more Sapnap thought about his and Dreams relationship, he seemed to think of him less and less of a boyfriend. Yes they spent endless and sleepless nights together either on call or in the same room but that didn't stop Sapnap from realizing maybe Dream was a replacement for George.

"Nothing, it was nothing. Hey I'll- I'll talk to you tonight I have somewhere to be." Sapnap gave his lover one finally smile as he started to head towards the parking lot. Though the smile was fake, it's not like his own boyfriend would even know.

Saying those three little words that were honestly supposed to mean the entire world when saying them, didn't blow his mind nor was he insanely scared of saying them either.

Being so unbelievably worried to say the words "I love you," to your other half can either be the end or a new start. Was he worried about losing Dream when the words flew out of his mouth one day?

The answer is no the more it pounders in his mind.

What about George? Would he have been scared to say those words to his face?

Definitely. Hell, they didn't even talk to one another so how would you even love someone you never knew besides occasionally getting the bare minimum of being acknowledged.

Karl.

Karl, Karl, Karl.

Saying those three words to him, worried the living hell out of him. They weren't dating. Karl is single whereas Sapnap is with Dream.

That would be cheating, and it's not like he's saying them in a friendly or bromatic way.

The way Karl brightens his day but listening to his meaningless conversations and idiotic topics, always being there when him and Dream had some type of argument which seemed to repeatedly be more than once a week—no it didn't matter about what it was, more less the fact it happened so often,—maybe it was the way Karl would try to make him laugh when he's at his worst.

Maybe it was as simple as he could be himself around Karl, show him his true self when he's at his worse and Karl always taking it upon himself to help out his friend.

A friend.

Maybe that's all they'd ever be.

That's where Sapnaps mind wondered as he traveled to no where particular.

George's POV
Practice absolutely sucked.

No one, absolutely no one was there mentally today.

Sapnap zoning in and out through the entire practice, Karl doing the same but trying to make it less obvious while also keeping an eye on Sap as he looked like he could break any second.

Himself and Dream have been on a thin path after their incident despite his, or well Sapnaps apology for him. To say the least they haven't really talked with one another about the whole situation, Dream never officially apologizing and George seemingly always being able to run away before they're alone together.
