Chapter 4

2 years passed and still no sign from space squad. Clarke would talk to them through the radio every single day. You had no idea if they even hear her but you just want her to have some peace of mind. While she was doing that you and Madi were goofing around and chasing each other between the trees. Clarke soon joined in and scared both of you by catching you two and making you all fall to the ground. Laughter filled the air and in that moment you felt really happy.

Suddenly Clarke sat up and turned towards you and Madi. She looked at Madi and they nodded at each other. Clarke reached out her hand to you and helped you get up.

"I have a surprise for you hodnes."

You smiled goofily because Clarke and Madi always come up with the most ridiculous but also cutest things.

Clarke led you somewhere while covering your eyes. You almost fell a couple of times which made Clarke burst out laughing. Finally the two of you came to a stop. Clarke whispered to you softly

"Ready?"

you're heart skipped a beat. She uncovered your eyes and you almost cried.

There was a beautiful picnic set up right next to a little pond with the light beaming through the trees. It was beautiful. You turned to Clarke and kissed her lightly.

"Happy birthday (y/n)."

In all honesty you completely forgot it was your birthday. You had been worried about why no one has come back yet and at the same time making sure Clarke and Madi were ok. You had so much on your mind that you just weren't paying attention to anything other than your family.

"Clarke this is beautiful thank you so much love."

Clarke took your hand and led you to where the food was. You could tell what Madi helped with because you and Madi cook together all the time. Clarke on the other hand.... Let's leave it at that. Your heart filled with joy to know that your wife and your kid loved you so much that they took the time to do all of this.

You and Clarke sat and laughed for a while after you ate. Suddenly Clarke got up and dusted off her pants.

"Wait here baby."

you nodded and she walked off somewhere. When she got back she was holding Maya's ipod. She picked a song and put it down reaching for your hand.

"May I have this dance?"

you smiled "I don't know my wife might have a problem with that."

Clarke chuckled "I'm sure she won't mind."

You took her hand as the song started playing. You quickly realized that it was your favorite song and the song you and Clarke first danced to after you got married... Montero by Lil Nas X... No I'm absolutely kidding its Can't Help Falling In Love by Kina Grannis.

The two of you started to slowly dance. Looking into eachothers eyes. Clarke smiled warmly. You fell in love with her even more every moment you spent with her. If you were gonna tell ten years old (y/n) that she was gonna marry her beat friend she would've laughed at you. But yet here you were, beautiful wife, beautiful kid, a happy family. The only thing missing were your friends. You still had hope that you would see them again. That Madi would meet the rest of your family. Clarke snapped you out of your train of thought by kissing your forehead. You kissed her but it wasn't delicate it was more passionate. Clarke deepened the kiss and well.... It got heated real quick. Clarke pinned you against a tree and kissed your neck making you let out a shaky breath...

You and Clarke headed back to the house after a while. When you got home you stopped in front of the door, Clarke stopping with you.

"Thank you so much for today Clarke."

she smiled at you and kissed your hand

"I'm just happy to see you happy (y/n), I've seen how much stress you've been putting on yourself. You needed this."

You didnt realize that Clarke had noticed. "Am I that bad at hiding it?"

"No but I'm your wife and your best friend since we were kids I always know when something going on. You do this little nose scrunch whenever you stress over something." you chuckled lightly

"Listen (y/n) you don't have to worry about me we're a team and we're in this together. As for Madi we're both her parents and we're also going to be by each others sides no matter what. Next time you're worried come talk to me hodnes." you kissed her softly

"I promise I will next time."

"Pinky promise?"

you laughed "pinky promise."

and with that you went inside. You saw that Madi was asleep so you took a blanket and covered her and you and Clarke headed to bed too.
